Cable Duct for TS/TEFor laying cable in particularly high packaging densities (high density network nodes),

in the field of optical fibre or copper cabling.

Large capacity. A wide range of cable routing, cable clamping, channelling and cross-cabling options creates the requirements for maximum port density in the minimum possible space. The individual U-related cable routing makes it possible to dispense with additional cable routing via patch panels within the distributor level, thereby equipping every U with connection points. This increases port density by up to 50%. The removable duct cover, hinged on both sides, facilitates user-friendly access at any time. The cable sections are held back by removable crossbars to protect them against falling out. Mounting is either on mounting rails at the sides, or on mounting angles and mounting frames in the 482.6 mm (19˝) distributor level. Two ducts may also be secured back-to-back. There is a second, smaller variant available for intensive partial installation.

Material:Cable duct: Sheet steel, spray-finishedCable routing components: PlasticFront trim panel: Aluminium, spray-finished

Colour:RAL 7035

Supply includes:Hinged front trim panel.

Note:When using the duct in conjunction with 482.6 mm (19˝) mounting frames and TS 8, the inner mounting level in the vicinity of the cable duct is not available.

Within the duct, additional cable holders may be attached to accommodate spare cables and for system-compatible cable deflection.

Overhead cable trough● Large capacity cable trough● Integrated grounding provisions● Unique design allows for power and data cables in one trough with the use of cable claws● Cable pass-through provisions● Accommodates ladder rack installations in parallel and perpendicular configurations● Tool-less installation

Intelligent power management with the Rittal PSM/PCU systemSwitching and measuring at individual server levelDuring times of rising energy costs, operators need to be very aware of the performance data of their hardware. With this in mind, Rittal has extended its range of active PSM modules with switching option to include the feature of current measurement per outlet slot. This supports targeted data logging and response down to individual equipment level.

With the new active modules, which are compatible with existing PSM modules, it is now possible to monitor the current power consumptionof individual servers and peripheral hardware at a glance.

The respective outgoing output is displayed visually via two LEDs per slot based on the “traffic light” principle (green, amber, red). Additionally, the overall current of the module can be read from a 7-segment display in the upper area of the module. The individual slot limits may be retrieved online via the CMC-TC system. An upper limit for the entire module may also be set. Once this is reached, all LEDs on the active module switch to red so that no further equipment is connected.

Networking capability of active modules via the CMC-TC systemIn conjunction with the Rittal CMC-TC Processing Unit II, up to 16 active PSM/PCU modules may be managed via TCP/IP. Event-controlled linking e.g. of switching states with other CMC-TC sensors (e.g. temperature) is also supported.

Connection recommendations:In order to ensure problem-free operation and the maximum connected load (22 kW) of the PSM bar, it is essential to ensure that a separate circuit with 16 A fuse is allocated to each module installed in the PSM bar (this is possible with 2 x three-phase 16 A infeed to the PSM bar by refraining from populating the 7th (8th) slot).

For active PSM/PCU modules that are controlled via the CMC-TC system, the default values of the output ranges may be modified. These limits may be adapted to the respective equipment environment. The values may be configured here in 0.1 A increments up to 10 A (15 A) via the CMC-TC web interface!

Note:Detailed information on the supply scope of the Rittal PSM system may be found in the IT Catalogue, from page 99.

Further information on the CMC-TC may be found in the IT Catalogue, from page 153.

Green LEDs indicate that poweris being supplied to the PSMmodule, and a low current flow of between 0.1A and 7A has been detected on the slot of that module. Other equipment maynow be safely connected.

Amber LEDs indicate an increasedcurrent flow of between 7A and 13A on the slot. The power consumption of all equipmentconnected to the module must not exceed 3000 W. Before connecting other equipment, please note its connected load.

Red LEDs indicate that the threshold of 13A has been exceeded. No further equipment must be connected in order to avoid overloading and tripping of the prefuses.

Note:The limits of the visual display may be set to customer-specific requirementsvia the CMC-TC system. If an upper limit has been set for the overall output of the module and this limit is reached, all LEDs on the module will automatically switch to red.

PMC 40 – compact rack independent UPS system (up to 40 kW, 3-phase)This uses “double conversion” UPS technology according to the highest classification VFI-SS-111, which provides a constant output irrespective of the incoming voltage, coupled with a high overall operating ratio and minimal space requirements.

The PMC 40 may be configured as a redundant system. As a general principle, it is important to ensure adequate climate control of the rack where the PMC 40 is installed. For installation purposes, the rack must have two 482.6 mm (19˝) mounting levels and a minimum depth of 800 mm. Depending on the configuration, mixed population (e.g. with servers) in the same rack is also supported.

The PMC 40 (redundant design) has “safe swap” capabilities. This allows easy, safe module exchange while the system is operational, without having to switch the UPS to bypass mode.

Supply includes:A PMC 40 UPS system is comprised of a basic unit for 482.6 mm (19˝) installation. 1 – 2 UPS modules and, depending on the version, a maximum of two battery packs per UPS module may be integrated into this basic module. The configured complete system comes supplied with basic unit and UPS module(s). The battery packs are supplied separately.

Rittal UPS Power Modular Concept 13Rittal PMC 200 ensures optimum availability for critical applications by combining modularity (flexible, unlimited scalability and redundancy, whereby up to 20 modules may be switched in parallel) with decentralised parallel architecture or DPA (redundant protection without a “single point of failure”). The UPS modules are transformerless, genuine online, double-conversion UPSs with static bypass andclassification code VFI-SS-111.

This modular concept keeps the purchasing and operating costs of redundant solutions exceptionally low. As your performance requirements grow, the UPS grows with you, thanks to its flexible scalability – even in the most confined spaces, and with the system operational.

The benefits to you:● Pay as you grow approach, minimising CAPEX whilst retaining flexibility for the future● Highest levels of availability thanks to short MTTR and long MTBF● Rightsizing of UPS provides better efficiencies for redundancy● Safe swap technology enables modules to be removed or added without any downtime• High efficiency even at low loads● No single point of failure in overall architecture● No de-rating of UPS with leading power factors up to 0.9

Three systems with a high level of efficiencyNowadays, servers are increasingly positioned in rooms that were not designed as data centres. As a result of hot air cushions below the ceiling, in particular, hot-spots in hot-spot racks are not dissipated. In order to consistently address this problem, Rittal has developed three systems for aisle containment. In the two variants of cold aisle (CRAC and Inline Cooling), we are able to provide a solution that is independent of whether there is a false floor available or not. Both provide cold air to the aisle, where it is then absorbed by the server inlets. In the third system, the hot air is extracted from the hot aisle, via the LCP Inline, without influencing the ambient temperatures, and then selectively re-emitted as cold air in the proximity of the equipment.

The outcome is the same with all three systems: Increased reliability, greater cooling capacity and simultaneously improved energy efficiency.

Rittal aisle containment (hot aisle)without raised floor● Simple assembly using the existing components of Rittal aisle containment.● Direct connection of the liquid cooling packages (LCP Inline) to an external cold water supply.● Simple laying of pipework in the rack base/plinth.● Suitable for use with high heat losses.● Room-neutral dissipation of the heat loss.

Aisle Containment

● Simple management of air can make a significant difference to operating costs● Containment systems are modular pods that simply ensure the cool air and warm air do not mix● Containing the cold aisle helps manage air better and enables us to increase air or temperatures to the servers● Containing the hot aisle helps to increase the return air temperature and make the cooling units run more efficiently● Systems can be retrofitted to existing facilities or implemented as new● Containment provides us with predictability and manageability● This knowledge can be used to alter cooling parameters and reduce costs - Increase air on temperatures thanks to better control - Increase the water temperature to account for the fact that we now have a higher air on temperature - Slow down the fans to increase the delta T on the air side - Slow down the water flow rate and save on pump power at the central plant

CRAC systemsFresh power for data centres and server rooms. Modern IT climate control technology ensures optimum thermal conditions in rooms exposed to high loads, such as data centres and server rooms. The main aim here is to ensure constant temperatures and precise humidity levels.

Continuous-operation designs and redundant systems ensure that all key functions are maintained.

Rittal CRAC systems dissipate waste heat from the IT equipment on demand, ensuring that the overall system operates in the most energy-saving way possible.

The fan is positioned inside the raised floor. This provides for optimal air distribution in the raised floor and also reduces energy consumption by minimising pressure deflection losses.

The integration of a heat exchanger with a larger surface area also enables potential savings in chilled water generation by utilising higher water inlet temperatures.

1) Output figures less heat from the fans.CW: 26°C/45% air inlet and 10°C/15°C water temperatures DX: 26°C/45% air inlet and 50°C condensation temperature2) Other media available on request.Other options available on request. We reserve the right to make technical modifications.

Equipment:User-friendly, high-quality control with an extensive range of functions and connectivity.Space-saving, readily accessible, high-efficiency fan. Flow and energy-optimised special heat exchanger with a generous safety factor.

Benefits:● The unit is available in a broad output range, and for a variety of cooling media.● The unit supports optimum integration of both hardware and software.● Optimum energy and space efficiency thanks to intelligent design features, such as the slanted heat exchanger and base integrated fan.● Frame based on the popular TS 8 system.

CRAC Systems - Data centres and server rooms

Functional principle:The CRAC system draws warmwaste air from the top of your data centre, cools it with either water or refrigerant in a closed heat exchanger, and blows the cooled, filtered supply air into the unit’s floor with overpressure.

The standard scope of the systemincludes the enclosure and the supporting structure for integrationinto a raised floor, as well as an autonomous controller with graphic display and the integrated filters.Pre-defined component lists permit the project-specific integration of additional options such as a humidifier, an electric heater, diverse interfaces (BACnet, RS485...) etc.

Fire Alarm and Extinguisher System DET-AC XL No fire without oxygen. Three ingredients are necessary to keep a fire burning: Fuel, heat and oxygen. As soon as just one of these factors is removed, the fire will be extinguished. As the high availability demands of IT systems rule out the use of water for firefighting, the protected space is flooded with an extinguisher gas to smother fires quickly and without leaving residues.

Thanks to its width of just 300 mm, the Rittal fire alarm and extinguisher system DET-AC XL is ideal for spacesaving integration into a rack suite or IT room.

Three solutions are available in the standard version:Extinguishing for:● up to 8 racks● up to 16 racks● up to 24 racksIn addition, we are able to configure both room and rack extinguisher systems to your individual specifications.

Function principle:The detection system of the DET-AC XL draws room or rack air in continuously and detects even the tiniest smoke particles during the initial phase of a fire, the so-called pyrolysis phase.

After a defined delay time, the extinguisher gas bottle is opened electrically and the gas flows out into the room or racks via the extinguisher nozzles.

Benefits:● Extinguisher system forroom volumes up to 84 m3

● Rack extinguisher system for up to 24 racks● Suitable for incorporation into TS 8 server rack suites● Integration into the RimatriX concept● Simple project planning on the basis of standard packages● Innovative extinguisher gas NOVEC 1230 − Ecological compatibility − Uncritical for IT components

RiZone Management For Microsoft system centre operations manager server rooms

RiZ

What can the RiZone Data Centre Management Software do?1. RiZone is the management platform for all components in the data centre infrastructure.● Monitoring of redundant data centres (up to Tier IV).● Fast configuration, automatic detection of all active RimatriX5 components.● Precise adaptation to requirements, a modular licence model.● Efficient administration of the physical infrastructure (from the “single-enclosure data centre” through to the “maxi-data centre”), with a high level of flexibility and availability.2. RiZone can communicate with a server management system (e.g. System Center Operations Manager from Microsoft) and exert direct influence over the availability of individual applications.3. RiZone supports the protocols SNMP and BACnet for connecting and monitoring all equipment in the IT and building infrastructure. At last, “isolated thinking” in IT and building management is a thing of the past.

RiZone – Easy to use, comprehensive and profitable● All active RimatriX5 components are automatically detected and administered in the user interface.● Any components that support the protocol SNMP or BACnet may be incorporated via the configuration manager. This means that all RiZone functions are then available to these components.● A workflow editor represents all mathematical operations and configures components across the board, facilitating optimum interconnection between all parameters. This opens up brand new opportunities to optimise the entire infrastructure.● The architecture is easily adapted to customer requirements. All potential applications – from the small server room to the large data centre – may be represented.● Configured as a high-MTBF a pplication, the individual RiZone servers monitor one another to ensure availability. If one server fails, the second server assumes full functioning and alerts the administrator. If the RiZone server is disconnected from the network, the RimatriX5 components are capable of maintaining data centre operation.● Individual messages or results from the sensors and the workflow may be transmitted, e.g. to a server management system. This opens up the opportunity of responding directly at server level if malfunctions occur in the data centre, which in turn significantly enhances the availability of each application.

System test

Forget simple component tests - only system tested room constructions make your data centre secure! 1

1 System-tested products are tested as a complete design or construction. This includes both the room units and their installation modules such as doors, cable ducting or ventilation slides. Com-ponent tests on the other hand relate to individual parts only.

2 The conventional construction method denotes room constructions made of RIGIPS (gypsum), concrete and other commonly used building materials, which are unable to provide sufficient security for data centre applications. In general, conventional construction methods are tested for use as a fire retardant wall.
