COUNCIL BRIEFS Reserve works THE works in Gabun Gujaaja Reserve in Rosemeadow are now complete and works in nearby Noorumba Reserve are 40 per cent complete. Camp- belltown Council will now work on feral animal and weed removal in Noorumba Reserve, providing picnic furniture and a track network. The council will also allocate funding to build fencing on a section of the reserve to stop cattle from nearby land getting into the area. Shade for skaters THE council is considering installing steel shade structures and seating at skate parks in Leumeah and Macquarie Fields. The Leumeah park has seven shade structures made up of barbecue areas, table and chair shelters and plain-roofed shel- ters. The Macquarie Fields park has only one roofed shelter. The estimated cost of these works is $54,000 and the council will consider including the project in next year’s budget. Seed proposal THE council is considering working with the Australian Botanic Garden, Mount Annan to conserve the area’s natural flora. The Garden Trust has secured funding for the construction of a $19.8 million seed bank at the garden and council is considering a formal agreement for the storage of seeds for future use in bush regeneration.
