Rio Verde is an Active Adult Community for Persons Age 55 and Older

Our Community...Monsoon Rain: Although Rio Verde had no reported rain in May or June, the Monsoon Season started in early July with lighting, thunder, wind and significant rain fall. Thank You from Jill Rogers: “Jill Rogers and family would like to thank everyone for the many expressions of sympathy and prayers following the death of Joe Rogers on July 4. The many cards were much appreciated and very comforting.” With Sympathy: The Association is saddened to learn of the deaths of Cal Fisher, Jerry Hillhouse and Joe Rogers and of former residents Rosemary James and George Bach.

From the RVCA Office...✓Landscape Leaks: If you spot a landscape leak on your neighbor’s property, please report it immediately to the RVCA Office at 471-2068. The Office staff will call the house watcher or the owner. Please do not turn off the water for the irrigation system. Also remind your house watcher to periodically check your irrigation system to be sure it is operating properly.✓Check Your Water Bill: Following the implementation of the recent water rate increase, most residents report a monthly increase of $15 to $20. If the increase in your bill is a lot higher, you may have a plumbing or irrigation leak. Questions? Call Rio Verde Utilities at 471-7247.✓Help Protect Our Streets: Help protect our streets from extra wear tear by heavy trucks by putting out your recycling container only when it is full. Also remember on trash collection day to position your trash and recycling containers so all wheels are in the street. This keeps the trash trucks away from the street edges where the asphalt is the thinnest.✓Parking on Four Peaks Boulevard: If you park on Four Peaks Boulevard be sure to avoid blocking access to the sidewalks going to the Community Center Pool and Fitness Center. Residents need access to the sidewalks to avoid tripping on the rocks. Also remember not to park in the Fire Lane marked in red!✓Tree Trimming Reminder from the Property Appearance Committee: Trees that overhang the street inhibit traffic and are a safety hazard. Remember to keep your trees trimmed to a minimum height of 12 feet above the street.✓Runaway Ball on Buckskin: This blue exercise ball was found on Buckskin Drive. If this is your ball, you can claim it at the RVCA Office.✓Preferred Retailer List: New names of a variety of service providers have been added to the Verdes Preferred Retailer List. Pick up a copy at the Office or Post Office. The list if also posted online at www.rioverdearizona.com.

Tennis Courts Summer Update: The tennis courts are in great shape with the completion of the recent refurbishment project. Courts 3 & 4 have been replaced and all the courts have been repainted. In the photo Tennis Club members Jane Roesch, Eva Zaleski, Illa Alexander and Sharon Hoffman enjoy play on the newly resurfaced tennis court #3.

Help Needed for...Community DirectoryFor many years Schuster Printing has produced the Verdes Community Directory at no cost to the Rio Verde or Tonto Verde Associations or the residents of both communities.Printing is paid for through the sale of directory ads. Unfortunately, advertising revenue is way down this year! Please consider contacting all the service providers who work for you and ask them to support the Verdes through the purchase of a directory ad. Call the RVCA Office at 471-2068 with their names and phone numbers. A Schuster sales rep will follow up. Deadline for ads is Aug. 31.
