Annotate the following photographs and analyse how Rihanna is being represented.

Aimed at a male audience, because of the way she is dressed. The clothes that reveal a lot of her body, so men would be more inclined to look at the photo.

By using 3 bold plain colours, its showing off how little she is wearing. She is making eye

contact with the audience, therefore appearing more flirtatious.

No eye contact, with a sad face with multiple bruises. Appearing to be sad, making the audience feel sympathy for her.

This photo wasn’t taken for Rihanna to look good. It’s an appeal to feel empathy, as she has just been beaten up.

Her pose, suggests she is hiding something. Is she was not wearing her dress her arms would be hiding her body, therefore this pose carries sexual implications.
