Close ArcCatalog and open ArcMap

Then add streets

and zone2

Then add your Beat1 and Beat2

Right-click and open

the Attribute

table

Sort by Name

Select all of the streets for Beat 1 as per

page 226. Hold the Ctrl key to select

multiple rows.

1. Close the Attribute Table. 2. Zoom to the selected streets.

3. Right-click Beat1, then select Edit Features and Start Editing

4. Click Beat1

Click on each vertex and

double click to end a segment

Repeat the same process

to digitize Beat2

Right click the lines for Beat1 and

Beat2

Select a thick width and

bright color for each line

Switch to layout view

In each new dataframe add

one of the Beats and “streets”

For each dataframe, right click

streets and Label Features

to label the streets

Use the zoom tool to zoom into a close-up view of each

beat

1. Make sure the Beat lines are thick and colored in each frame.

2. Add a title and scale bar. 3. Your map should look something like

this.
