The 2019 Night of Notables

Richmond Public School was recently “invaded” by a host of notable characters, both past and present, participating in the annual Night of Notables celebration. Our school hall has been transformed into creative learning centres, colourfully depicting time lines, quotes, pictures, reports, artefacts, DVD presentations and other objects that portrayed the achievements of each inspirational notable. Stage 3 made these characters come alive on their allocated nights. Well done, Stage 3! Thank you to all of the parents, carers and families who have supported this learning program throughout the term. Also, a big thank you to staff who also attended the evenings to share in the fabulous achievements of our students.

Canteen News The canteen will be open as per usual next week, including the last day of term, Friday, 27 September. We will reopen for Term 4 on the first day back, Monday, 14 October. Thank you to our many wonderful volunteers, to the student helpers and you for your support in term 3, we wish you a great break and look forward to serving you and your family once again in term 4.

Spotlight on…….Sultanas

This super cheap and generous portion sized snack is healthy and

delicious. Sultanas, sometimes called raisons are dried grapes that are made from various varieties of seedless white-fleshed grapes. Sultanas are smaller than raisons and are slightly sweeter. Did you know that Australia and Turkey are major producers of the sultana? Grab yourself a bag and have a yummy treat.

Rainbow of Food Recipe – Red & Green Sultana – apple tower 1 tbsp sultanas 1 red apple & 1 green

apple 1 tbsp rolled oats Pinch of cinnamon 3 tbsp unsweetened peanut butter ¾ tsp honey Method: Mix together peanut butter, honey and cinnamon. Slice apples into discs. Spread each disc with the peanut butter mix, top with rolled oats and sultanas and repeat until you a have a tower. Don’t forget to download the Flexischools app and create an account so you can order online and have exclusive access to specials that I will be offering from time to time. We have some items that are available until stocks last that are not listed on the printed menu.
