The Richmond Bluegrass Jam is a very successful annual event where local music fans of all ages gather with the goal of raising money to support the Richmond Fisher House, a home-away-from- home for the families of soldiers and veterans recuperating at Richmond’s McGuire Veterans Medical Center. On April 14, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., we’ll have 30 of the region’s best bluegrass, old-time and roots bands playing on three stages for all twelve hours in a festival atmosphere with food, drink and lots to do for everyone! It’s the perfect example of the best of local Richmond coming together to support a local cause. First and foremost, we’re at the Jam to raise money for military families. ALL proceeds will go to the Richmond Fisher House (www.richmondfisherhouse.org). Over the past eight years, we’ve raised and donated more than $140,000! We are committed to keeping the momentum going for this 9th Annual Jam. Last year we had more than 4,000 people join in the fun, and the atmosphere was simply amazing. We expect another record crowd this year, all in support of a very worthy cause! The venue is the beautiful Cultural Arts Center at Glen Allen and there will be lots of media and advertising to get the word out, including web, print, TV, radio and social media.
