Welcome to summer at the Richard Whiteley Theatre! This programme ispacked full of little gems for all the family and I hope there is somethingthat appeals to every one of you. This season’s theatre offerings could notbe more different from each other. Tortoise in a Nutshell’s quirky Grit wonmany accolades at last year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe, their use ofmultimedia techniques and puppetry make the show a visual spectacle thatshould not be missed. George Brant’s Elephant’s Graveyard is not for thefaint hearted, but with a performance rooted in physical theatre this will beanother thought-provoking evening.

Musically, I am delighted to welcome back Lyn Fletcher & The HalléSoloists. They have produced an excellent summer programme and wehave ordered the weather to match (I hope), so please do come along andsupport this fantastic sextet. The Herdwyck Consort specialises in Baroquemusic and their recital at the end of June will be another special evening inthe Chapel.

Having had to delay our screening of Les Misérables from March, I amdelighted that we are now showing it in May and hope that many of you willjoin us. For the children, The Croods is already tipped to be a winner atnext year’s award ceremonies so please do bring all the family. The detailsof our Promising Performers Summer Courses might also be of interest tofill those long summer holidays that are not far away.

We look forward to welcoming you to Giggleswick this summer.
