Richard Morrison is and iconic title sequence designer, who's career spans over 30 years, with more than 100 feature film title sequences created.

Morrison started his career working at a production studio where he ran into Maurice Binder. He assisted Binder with the production of the main title sequence of one of the Bond movies, this led him to pursue movie title design.

He got his first break in 1979, when director Franc Roddam asked him to design the main title for Quadrophenia.

Morrison's has also worked with notable directors include Tim Burton, Terry Gilliam, Jean-Jacques Annaud, David Lean, Stephen Frears, Kenneth Branagh, Ridley Scott, and Nicolas Roeg.

After having run the design and production company 'Plume' for more than twenty years, Morrison founded Fig Productions in 1998.

In 2007, he joined the animation and mixed media production company Th1ng in London.

One of the character traits that defines Morrison as a designer is his ability to connect to people, he also intuitively understands what a project needs. He is not just a designer, but a storyteller as well.

In this interview he describes how things went wrong and how the editing for movies can be harder than he first thought. He gives a tour around the 'Th1ng Studio' and explains how they just experiment and model their ideas and how it helps move through a idea they have come up. He also explains about how to pitch ideas and how simple it can be to get what you want turned into a film.

He also explain how he personally comes up with ideas and how they develop into the films he invents and composes. He also talks about how he worked with Tim Burton and how he and a whole team of young directors pulled together the opening of 'Sweeney Todd‘.

From this interview we have learned that Richard Morrison is a very skilled title designer and he uses every little bit of his and his teams skill to put together the best opening sequences you can get.

Analysis of his Work• In Morrison’s opening to Sweeny Todd, the opening

immediately lets us know what the film is already about. Complimenting Morrison's style, Sweeny Todd is creepy and eerie from the start by the music and they way that as the credits start to appear, we travel through London town visiting different places that may be related with a killing that happened or may happen which flows through the town. As the genre is horror, it fits in with the codes and conventions because it’s what you would expect from a horror, blood, death and gore. As the opening goes on, we realize that
