EMPLOYMENT HISTORY

2015 - Leatherhead Theatre, Surrey – Volunteering Work

On 25th February, I began working as a volunteer at Leatherhead Theatre, on Wednesday afternoons. The tasks I have so far undertaken, are:

Working on spreadsheets on Microsoft Excel; I have:◦ created a spreadsheet, to monitor sales at the theatre coffee shop.◦ done a weekly timesheet, for the head of marketing.◦ made out quotas, for people wishing to hire the theatre for a performance.◦ added data of newcomers to the theatre, for instance their addresses and the

date they came or coming to a performance/film. I have created a Newcomers file; one of the sheets is for Theatre, and the other is for Cinema.

◦ done research on drama schools, and schools in general in order to find child actors to perform at a pantomime, at the theatre. What I have done is found the names and addresses of schools in the Surrey and South West London area, and put their details into a spreadsheet.

◦ done spreadsheets, monitoring advanced sales of tickets for films or performances.

I have had the task, of helping in creating a new admin system for parents/guardians registering or re-registering their children for performance arts groups at the theatre. What I've been doing, is drafting letters for parents/guardians registering, or re-registering their children for the groups, and I've then gone about designing a Excel spreadsheet where you input details of the child and also the parent(s)/guardian(s). I've also gone about designing a payment form, for the parents/guardians to fill in.

Doing flyers for the theatre and designing an advance booking form, on Microsoft Publisher.

Writing out press releases for upcoming films on Microsoft Word; what I do is look at research for the film online (including on the Leatherhead Theatre website), and I then put in a description of the film, as well as the time the film will be shown at the theatre.

Registering events at the theatre (films/shows) onto event websites. I am an usher, whenever there is a film on a Wednesday afternoon. What I do is

check the auditorium for things left on the floor, before people come in to see the film, along with 1 or 2 other ushers; I then take slips off tickets. Once the film is finished, I check the place again for things left behind with the usher(s).

Taking orders for tickets in the box office on the phone, and entering details in the STAGE IT system.

Designing a poster for a live broadcast of the Van Gogh Exhibition from Amsterdam, on Word.

General duties, such as sticking up posters, sticking labels on leaflets, and delivering letters.

2015 The Digital Hub, Walton-On-Thames – Work Experience

From 20th April - 14th May, I did some work experience (part time: twice-a-week) at this co-working organisation in Walton-On-Thames, called The Digital Hub.

What I did been the The Hub, was:

Researched companies like The Digital Hub in the Surrey area: what I have did, was find information about these companies on the net, and then I would input information into a spreadsheet on Google Drive.

Talked with the managing director, Alec about job searching; he gave me advice on how I should go about looking for work.

Delivered leaflets for the company. I also carried out general duties, such as making sure meeting rooms and offices

were clean and organised, and checking that there was enough of everything in the kitchen.

2006-2007 ESPAS Centre, Richterswil, Switzerland - Office Assistant/IT Trainee

Worked with a company based web database to obtain images to add to the database

Browsed the internet for technology pictures to use on company database (Concerto); images were saved, added to Properties Dialog box then download onto the database

Studied Microsoft Access and German language (through CDs)

2000-2002 Accurity GMBH, Zuerich, Switzerland - Office Assistant/IT Trainee

Worked on Microsoft Access, creating databases for office stationery, employees or clients (addresses, dates of birth, etc.)

Researched companies on Jobserve.co.uk, adding contact info to MS Access database

Had a trial with a Macromedia Shockwave programme, experimenting with moving images and words for web pages

Collected items from the post office, withdrew money from the bank along with other general duties

INTERESTS

I have an interest in horse racing, and in 2013 I undertook a 3-day Racing Secretarial Course at the British Racing School in Newmarket.

My father is a councillor, with the Residents Association in Epsom. During the campaign period, up to 7th May 2015 I helped him deliver leaflets and then, during the last month leading up to the election, I went out canvassing with him, along with the other two candidates and other members of the RA.

My biggest interest is probably music; I have been playing bass guitar since 2001, and am in a Bruce Springsteen tribute band.

I sometimes edit data on Wikipedia, using HTML.
