Autonomous cars use a variety of techniques to detect their surroundings, such as laser light, GPS, and sensors . Advanced control systems interpret sensory information to identify appropriate navigation paths, as well as obstacles and relevant signage.Design Engineer of Ricardo TechniX Shri. Pranav supporting the team with Arduino basics. All the connections in the car are set on the Arduino (Mega).

HYDROPONICSS8 ECE students Jisna S Sreenivas, Pheba Mony and Cilin Babu completed the Hydroponics Project in Trinity Automation G arage under the support of Shri. Krishna- nunni and Ricardo team. Arduino and LED systems with sensors are used to create

the ideal environment. Hydroponics is a technique for growing plants without soil, providing for a considerable degree of control of the elemental environment surrounding the root. In this project, Plants are suspended in the pHneutral medium. Nutrient rich water is pumped through allowing the plants to absorb what they need. The wateris recycled, until the nutrients are nearly all absorbed by plants and then disposed of in a responsible way. The humidity, temperature, pressure and all such factors are measured using sensors.

Optical Chopper with Varying Duty CycleS8 students Jithin J,Nayana B Nath, Athira M B and Kavya Sreekumar are doing their final year project on “Optical Chopper with Varying duty cycle” under the guidance of Asst.Prof. Titto Anujan. As part of the project the students visited Opto Electronics Department of Kerala University, Karia vattom. They also met Dr.S. Sankararaman, Department of Opto Electronics for expert knowledge and external guidance.

PWM Programmed ChipThe PWM programmed chip is used for controlling the chopper wheel frequency .The team tried to do the generator with potentiometer but due to heating up of potentiometer the idea was dropped. So it was replaced with PWM. They have completed power supply, chopperwheels, nylon shaft and semiconductor laser. The devicce is used to chop the laser beam at a specific frequency. These are the optical chopper wheels. Two chopperwheels used in place of one for more accuracy. Minimum frequency is 1.5 hz. The semiconductor laser used in the project was designed and made by the students using lathe with the support of Lab Instructors. Its wave length is about 650 nm. The connection of PWM is given to power supply, providing digital display to chopper generator and connecting shaft to chopper- wheel and DC motor.
