Rhythms of English
…is a word that refers to the length of time between each major "beat", or accent, such as in a piece of music The first beat of a group of regular, evenly spaced beats feels stronger than the others

If a word ends with the sound "hit," "heed," "hide," "hay," or "ahoy," and the next words begins with any vowel sound, the words are linked with a "y".
