THE CEMETERIES AT PELHAM, MASS.
The Old Cemetery at the Center lies
directly behind the old church and the town
hall. The few gravestones remaining sre,
for the most part, badly weathered and
partly effaced, consequently very hard to
decipher. In some cases the headstone is
completely gone, but the iootstone is still
legible.
The reading and copying of these fifty-
nine stones occupied two persons for three
hours. Various means and devices were used
to get every possible letter, the workers
collaborating on questionable items.
The other cemetery listed here lies in
the southern end of Pelham, only a few feet
from the Belchertown line.
