* Peter Salem was an african american who served as a soldier in the american revolutionary war. He was born in framingham, massachusetts. He was a slave of Jeremiah Belknap. Peter was sold to lawson Buckminster, and was given freedom to enlist in the continental army.

* He was a soldier in the continental army. In the revolutionary war he was a minuteman. He was known for killing British marine major John Pitcairn in the battle of bunker hill.
