REVIVAL -SPIRITUAL

AWAKENING

Presented by: Lost Sheep Ministries

Definitions: Revival:

A spiritual revival can be defined as when God touches a community of the faithful.

Revival is a time of personal repentance and reuniting with God. At its essence

revival is a re-encounter with God

Another aspect of the definition of revival is that it is an extraordinary

movement of the Holy Spirit.

Spiritual Awakening:Definitions:

A Spiritual Awakening occurs when a community of people outside the church

becoming aware of their need of Spiritual change.

The Revived local church should stimulate local Spiritual Awakening

Disciple of Christ:Definitions:

A Disciple of Christ is a student, follower, apprentice, of Jesus. A person seeking to be an obedient, abiding Christian.

Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.” Matthew 16:24

And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.” Mark 1:17

And he said to them all, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” Luke 9:23

Jesus answered, "If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to you? You must follow me.“John 21:22

Follow Me

I will make you fishers of men (Matthew 4:19)

Jesus, The Vine, is the source of life for a true Disciple

Jesus’ Spirit (Holy Spirit) flows from the Vine to the branch

To Abide In Christ is to Meditate on Him, Think of His Promises, Obey Him.

Disciples are to bear Fruit in the Kingdom

Apart from Jesus we are Dead Wood

The Cost for Following Jesus:

In contrast to this is costly grace:“C ostly grace confronts us as a gracious call to follow Jesus, it comes as a word of forgiveness to the broken spirit and the contrite heart. It is costly because it compels a man to submit to the yoke of Christ and follow him; it is grace because Jesus says: "My yoke is easy and my burden is light." Dietrich Bonheoffer

"cheap grace is the preaching of forgiveness without requiring repentance, baptism without church discipline. communion

without confession. Cheap grace is grace without discipleship, grace without the cross, grace without Jesus Christ."

Or, even more clearly, it is to hear the gospel preached as follows: "Of course you have sinned, but now everything is forgiven, so you can

stay as you are and enjoy the consolations of forgiveness." The main defect of such a proclamation is that it contains no demand for

discipleship.

Satan is the god of this world and he stimulates Man’s five physical senses to implant tempting thoughts into

Revival begins at Home

Revival is desperately needed in the church…in the country…in the world;

But a revived church with un-revived homes is sheer

hypocrisy!

Revival life is manifested in fellowship and oneness with those with whom we live.

The home is the place before all others where revival must be experienced.

God created the home before He created His

Church!

Revival Needs to Start With YOU!
