Em alguns períodos do ano, um fenômeno curioso toma gran¬de parte do centro. A maré sobe e as águas invadem as ruas, que foram projetadas para permitir a entrada e saída da água do mar. As casas também foram construídas 30 cm acima do nível das

Beatriz Milhazes é uma carioca de cabelos revoltos, voz nasalada, meio tímida. Atualmente, é a maior expoente da arte contemporânea brasileira. Sua tela O Mágico, pintada em 2001, foi vendida a um colecionador espanhol por US$ 15 mil. Em 2008, foi colocada novamente à venda num leilão da casa Sotheby’s de Nova York. O lance inicial era de US$ 350 mil. Com sorte, poderia chegar a US$ 700 mil. No final, acabou arrematada por US$ 1,049 milhão – uma valorização de mais de 6 mil % em sete anos. Foi o maior montante já alcançado por uma obra de um artista brasileiro vivo.

A cifra surpreende mas não é, nem de longe, um caso isolado. O mercado brasileiro de arte con-temporânea vive uma efervescência sem precedentes, com forte projeção internacional. Em novem-bro passado, a obra construtivista Relief, de Sergio Camargo, falecido em 1990, foi vendida por US$ 1,594 milhões, também na Sotheby’s. Pinturas, esculturas, fotografias e instalações com assinatura nacional são destaque nos principais leilões e feiras de arte e ganham exposições individuais nos mais importantes museus do mundo. Obras de Ernesto Neto, Vik Muniz e Adriana Varejão alcançam até US$ 400 mil. Nomes como Cildo Meireles, Tunga, Waltercio Caldas, José Resende e Rivane Neuens-chwander também dispensam apresentação.

No topo da lista está Beatriz Milhazes, 49 anos. De seu ateliê, formado por duas casas numa rua arborizada no Horto, no Rio de Janeiro, ela tenta explicar, sem falsa modéstia, seu sucesso: “Eu trou-xe uma novidade na área da pintura”. Milhazes afirma que a arte brasileira sempre foi consistente, mas só nos últimos anos ganhou destaque, no país e no exterior, devido a uma conjunção de euforia do mercado financeiro, globalização e busca de identidade própria. “Nesse mundo sem fronteiras, as obras precisam ter um sotaque regional. A originalidade, na arte contemporânea, vale tanto quanto a qualidade.”

Ninguém duvida da originalidade e da qualidade de Beatriz Milhazes, dona de uma técnica apu-rada, reconhecida até por quem acha suas obras repetitivas. Seus desenhos coloridos, repletos de formas geométricas, flores e arabescos, com repertório que remete ao carnaval e modernismo, são pintados em pedaços de plástico e depois reunidos na tela, como num decalque. Alguns trabalhos levam até um ano para ser finalizados.

Mas será que a explosão da arte contemporânea, produzida a partir dos anos 50, tem explicação apenas na qualidade intrínseca das obras? Certamente não. Os altos preços se devem também a um jogo de marketing, divulgação e diferentes interesses. Os críticos e curadores filtram a informação e influenciam o público. Os artistas aprendem desde cedo princípios da autopromoção.

As galerias de arte, as casas de leilão e os colecionadores promovem os criadores e fazem o preço flutuar usando critérios nem sempre muito transparentes. Para muitos investidores, quadros e escul-turas tornaram-se um ativo financeiro – embora com muito mais valor estético e afetivo.

A construção erguida no século 15 pela antiga civilização incaica atrai quase um milhão de visitantes por ano ao Peru, tornando-se o roteiro ideal para diferentes gostos e bolsos. É o principal objetivo dos mochileiros que querem explorar as mais belas paisagens da América do Sul. Todo aventureiro que se preze tem uma

foto sua com as ruínas ao fundo. O empresário megamilionário Bill Gates também tem. Ele faz parte de uma lista de afortunados que podem pagar a valiosa diária do único hotel com vista para o complexo arqueológico, o Machu Picchu Sanctuary Lodge.

Todos parecem ter a mesma opinião sobre o Santuário Histórico de Machu Picchu, como é oficialmente chamado: o lugar emite vibrações positivas que fazem do passeio um momento mágico, sem igual. Nos últimos anos, grupos esotéricos e religiosos vêm escolhendo o santuário como ponto de encontro para a realização de suas práticas místicas.

Boa parte dessa sensação está relacionada ao fato de o visitante saber que está penetrando em um lugar cuja história escrita não existe e onde muito pouco se conhece sobre sua criação. Por que osincas construíram, ocuparam e logo abandonaram a vila de pedra de quase um quilômetro de extensão são segredos ainda sem respostas.

A cidade perdida dos incas, como é apelidada, permaneceu oculta durante cinco séculos, até ser descoberta de forma casual, em 1911, pelo explorador norte-americano Hiram Bingham. No iní-cio, estudiosos pensavam que se tratava de uma fortaleza, mas com o avanço das escavações des-cobriram que a maioria dos esqueletos eram de mulheres, surgindo a hipótese de o lugar ter sido um monastério para as “virgens do Sol”, personagens fundamentais da vida religiosa dos incas.

Depois os pesquisadores sustentaram que o local foi feito para a observação dos astros. O monumento de pedra Intihuatana, que significa “lugar onde se amarra o Sol”, era usado como um relógio solar para marcar as estações do ano. Estudos mais recentes defendem que a cidadela foi, como as pirâmides dos faraós do Egito, um ostentoso mausoléu construído para Pachakuteq, fundador e primeiro imperador do extinto Império Inca.

Em meio a tantas especulações, uma certeza: a cidade, construída a 2.350 metros de altitude dosAndes peruanos, era um lugar sagrado, onde somente o inca, a nobreza, os sacerdotes e as mulheres escolhidas podiam entrar.

Salvador foi a primeira capital do Brasil Colônia, de 1549 até 1763, quando perdeu o posto para o Rio de Janeiro. Até hoje as duas metrópoles competem para ver quem atrai mais turistas nacionais e estrangeiros. Disputas à parte, Salvador tem um trunfo que nenhuma outra cidade brasileira tem: suas conexões explícitas com a África.

A cultura afro-brasileira se deixa literalmente tocar pelos turistas que escolhem Salvador. Com 80% da população negra, a cidade é no mundo uma das que mais preservam as cores e sons do conti-nente de seus ancestrais escravos. Ao mesmo tempo, não deixa de renovar suas crenças diariamente. O sincretismo da religião, em terreiros ou igrejas; o berimbau e golpes ritmados que dão o tom da capoeira; e a simpatia das baianas de formas rechonchudas, servindo os quitutes à base de azeite de dendê, pimenta e leite de coco, fazem o turista relembrar o tempo inteiro: sim, essa é a Bahia.

Nas ladeiras do Pelourinho, cartão-postal da cidade e patrimônio da humanidade, diante dos casarões que começaram a ser restaurados na década de 1990, o povo simples e batalhador sorri, mesmo diante as dificuldades. E tenta sobreviver, seja como ambulante, com o seu pequeno negócio. Mas quando o fim de tarde chega, ele se escora em um banquinho na praça e vê a vida passar. Há até aqueles que se arriscam em uma partidinha de damas.

Salvador é tão prosaica que parece que já se conhece a cidade em sua primeira visita. Tudo ali é memória, de um livro, um filme, uma música, uma história. O Rio Vermelho de Jorge Amado, a Ita-parica de João Ubaldo Ribeiro, a Cidade Baixa dos traços sem pudor de Carybé, a Itapuã de Caymmi, o saudosismo de Caetano e Gil e até o Carnaval de Daniela Mercury e tantos outros.

O baiano é herdeiro legítimo da alegria e do ritmo. Ele dança, primeiro porque sabe, e depois para mostrar aos outros. Os tambores africanos que dão o tom em blocos afro são os mesmos que ressoam na igreja de Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretos e nos mais de 200 terreiros de candomblé da cidade.

A cidade tem as cores e o cheiro da saudade de uma África distante, e na impossibilidade de ter o que não podia, tornou-se única. A pimenta que esquenta a culinária é a mesma que faz a vida ter sabor. O soteropolitano é o artista que admira a beleza de sua rotina comum. Ele está lá, na ladeira do Centro Histórico, entre outros lugares, só esperando que o turista descubra essa beleza também.

Afastadas do Centro, Itapuã, Stella Maris e Flamengo têm águas limpas e ambientes tranquilos. No meio do caminho, o bairro do Rio Vermelho reúne os boêmios e os fãs dos mais famosos aca-rajés de Salvador, preparados pelas baianas Dinha e Regina.

No quesito gastronomia, aliás, as ofertas vão muito além do bolinho recheado com vatapá e camarão seco. As receitas típicas, que mesclam com perfeição ingredientes indígenas, africanos e portugueses, levam à mesa delícias como bobó, moqueca e caruru, sempre perfumados pelo azeite-de-dendê.

Na tarde da última quarta-feira (15), em um hotel situado na orla da zona sul carioca, o diretor Fernando Meirelles e a atriz Maria Flor receberam a imprensa para falar sobre o filme “360”. A produção parte da questão existencial, “pessoas e seus problemas”, para contar uma história (baseada na obra de Arthur Schnitzler) com gente de todas as partes do mundo que traem, se apaixonam e buscam um novo rumo para a tristeza do presente, em suas vidas.

Como foi gravar com atores de várias nacionalidades diferentes? Quais as dificuldades?

Fernando Meirelles: Na verdade inglês, francês e português eu falei com quase todo mundo, só com o ator russo que falava um inglês muito pobre, ele até falava um pouquinho, não dava pra se comunicar realmente, então, depois do segundo dia de filmagem nós chamamos uma in-térprete. Mas com os outros, ou falava francês ou inglês. É impressionante como interpretação não é mesmo sobre o sentido das palavras, você sente o tom, o olhar, como o cara se coloca, é possivelmente dirigir em chinês. Eu depois dessa experiência me sentiria confortável em fazer um filme inteirinho em chinês.

Como surgiu o interesse pelo projeto?

Fernando Meirelles: Essa peça é uma obra do Schnitzler (Arthur). Foi só um gatilho inicial para o projeto, o filme é muito diferente da peça na verdade. Esse roteiro foi escrito pelo Peter Morgan que escreveu “A Rainha” e ele queria fazer um filme que parecesse um pouco com a vida dele, ele mora em Vienna, está sempre em Londres e nos EUA, está sempre voando. Então mui-tos aeroportos, muitas conexões, muitos hotéis genéricos. Ele tem essa sensação que o mundo é muito pequeno. Como eram 100 anos da morte do Schnitzler alguém propôs ele fazer a adaptação de alguma peça, assim ele juntou uma coisa com a outra. O que tem da peça é só o começo que começam com uma prostituta e acabam em Vienna, mas fora isso, são histórias diferentes. Meu interesse no projeto foi primeiro que na hora eu recebi o roteiro eu vi o nome do Peter Morgan. Ele é muito bom diálogos, ele é muito bom de construir situação. Outra coisa que gostei do filme é porque era muto arriscado e eu sabia que era, o fato de não ser uma história clássica em três atos onde você segue os personagens, uma estrutura diferente. Sou muito fã do Robert Altman que faz esses filmes corais. Outra coisa, o filme não tem antagonista e não tem protagonista.

How did your interest in the project?

Fernando Meirelles: This piece is a work of Schnitzler (Arthur). It was just a trigger for the initial project, the film is very different part actually. This script was written by Peter Morgan who wrote “The Queen” and he wanted to make a film that looked a little with his life, he lives in Vienna, is always in London and the U.S., is always flying. So many airports, too many con-nections, many hotels generics. He has the feeling that the world is very small.

O protagonista está dentro de cada um dos personagens. É um filme maduro, é um conflito in-terno que ocorre.

Alguns personagens aparecem mais que outros. Como foi essa construção dos persona-gens?

Fernando Meirelles: O filme está muito parecido com o roteiro. A gente tirou uma ou outra coi-sa. Tem um personagem que sumiu um pouco, eu achei uma pena mas é que realmente não tinha tempo. É aquela psicóloga do Ben Foster, na cadeia, aquela atriz é incrível ela já ganhou o Oscar de melhor atriz por “Segredos e Mentiras” do Mike Leigh. Eu a chamei porque o personagem dela era maior, ela tinha uma namorada tinha uma historinha ali. Nessa personagem a gente deu uma enxugada, infelizmente. Os outros não, eram como no roteiro. No filme, quem tinha mais diárias de filmagens acho que foi a Flor mesmo, tem mais tempo. O roteirista do filme, Peter Morgan, esteve muito presente na criação do filme.

Como foi trabalhar com Anthony Hopkins?

Fernando Meirelles: O Hopkins é uma maravilha. É um cara que está de bem com a vida. Ele não precisa mais provar nada a ninguém, fez tudo o que tinha que fazer não reclama de nada. É ótimo trabalhar com um cara tão positivo, tão generoso. No nosso primeiro encontro eu já senti isso.

Esse novo trabalho do diretor paulista, famoso a partir do clássico nacional “Cidade de Deus”, estreia nesta sexta-feira (17) nas salas de cinema de todo o Brasil. Não perca essa chance de assistir a mais um filme de Meirelles nos cinemas.

Some characters appear more than others. How was the construction of the characters?

Fernando Meirelles: The film is very similar to the script. We took one thing or another. There’s a cha-racter who disappeared a bit, I found a pen but is that really had no time. Is that the psychologist Ben Foster in the chain, that actress is amazing she has won the Oscar for best actress for “Secrets and Lies” by Mike Leigh. I called her because her character was bigger, she had a girlfriend had a story there. In this character we gave a dried out, unfortunately. The others did not, they were like in the script. In the film, who had more days of filming I think it was the same flower, have more time.

How was working with Anthony Hopkins?

Fernando Meirelles: The Hopkins is a marvel. He’s a guy that is good about life. He no longer needs to prove anything to anyone, did everything he had to do not complain about anything. It’s great working with some-one so good, so generous. At our first meeting I felt that.

Foi no alto de um dos cartões-postais de São Paulo, o Edifício Itália, que foi construído, há 45 anos, um dos mais famosos restaurantes da cidade: o Terraço Itália. Localizado no coração da capital paulista, o espaço já recepcionou figurões da política, grandes empre-sários e celebridades de todo o mundo. Entre os nomes famosos que se deliciaram com

os pratos do local estão o cantor norte-americano Frank Sinatra e rainha da Inglaterra Elizabeth II.A decoração, o ar clássico e a culinária requintada continuam os mesmos, o que ajuda a manter

um público cativo no local. Porém, nos últimos anos, “pegando carona” na mudança da paisagem vista da enorme vidraça que envolve o restaurante ao longo de quase meio século, a direção do terraço quer também ampliar o negócio com uma clientela renovada, como explica o gerente-geral, André Marques.

O maior desafio do Terraço é recebermos clientes de vários tipos. Hoje, temos clientes habituais, pessoas que frequentam a casa há 20, 30 anos. Clientes que comemoram aniversário de casamento. Os com vocação romântica, que vêm pedir em namoro, noivado, casamento.Um dos funcionários mais antigos do Terraço, o maitre do espaço dançante, Osmar Jesus da Silva, conta que trata “melhor as crianças porque elas serão os clientes do futuro”. Ele diz se sentir parte da vida de seus clientes. Tem um cliente meu que se casou cinco vezes. O último casamento dele foi a banda daqui que foi cantar na festa em Presidente Prudente. Ele sempre começou a namorar aqui, fez os pedidos aqui, tudo aqui. Com a experiência, eu já sei quando a pessoa vai fazer o pedido. O jeito do homem fica diferente. Quando ele pergunta onde é o banheiro, já sei que vai fazer o pedido [risos]. Geralmente, dou palpite, ajudo, e levo até champanhe no momento. Além de Silva, pouco mais de cem pessoas trabalham no local. Atualmente, o Terraço é dividido em quatro espaços: o restaurante, o salão dan-çante, o bar e um salão para eventos.

O Terraço Itália foi um empreendimento idealizado pelo empresário italiano Evaristo Comolatti e inaugurado em 29 de setembro de 1967. O restaurante fica no 45º andar do edifício Itália, que foi construído em 1956 e, durante muito tempo, foi o mais alto da cidade. Seu nome é uma homena-gem aos italianos que ajudaram a construir a cidade. O edifício é considerado patrimônio histórico municipal e estadual.

It was at the top of one of the postcards of São Paulo, Italy Building, which was built 45 years ago, one of the most famous restaurants in the city: the Terrace Italy. SINOPSE: O País do Desejo vai contar a história de uma pianista clássica de renome que luta contra uma doença crônica nos rins. Roberta (Maria Padilha) vive na cidade histórica de Ouro Preto, em Minas Gerais, onde luta a sua batalha com as forças que ainda lhe restam. Dedica-se com disciplina e paixão à música.

Durante uma viagem ao Recife, naquela que pode ser a sua última turnê, Roberta passa mal e desmaia durante um concerto no Teatro de Santa Isabel, justo quando parece tocar da forma mais bela. Internada numa clínica, Roberta conhece Padre José (Fábio Assunção), pároco da Igreja de Santo Agostinho, extremamente envolvido com a comunidade, localizada em área rural canavieira próxima à capital pernambucana.

A partir desse episódio, a família do Padre passa a ter uma importância fundamental na história, já que o pai (Dr. Orlando – Cláudio Marzo) e o irmão (César – Gabriel Braga Nunes) são médicos e donos da Clínica do Rim, na qual Roberta está internada.

Família, amor, celibato, medicina e igreja se misturam num drama contemporâneo. A originalidade de O País do Desejo está no fato do filme ter uma linguagem ambígua e leve, próxima da comédia, e transferir para o público qualquer juízo final sobre um amor proibido.

Synopsis: The Country of Desire will tell the story of a renowned classical pianist who battles chronic kidney disease. Roberta (Maria Padilha) lives in the historic city of Ouro Preto in Minas Gerais, where fighting his battle with the forces that still remain. Dedicate yourself with discipline and passion to music.

During a trip to Recife, in what may be his last tour, Roberta gets sick and collapses during a concert at the Teatro de Santa Isabel, just when it seems to play the most beautiful. O musical "A Família Addams", no teatro Abril (centro de São Paulo). A montagem é feita nos moldes da produção americana que está excursionando pelos Estados Unidos.

A história dos Addams é tão singular quanto a família. Um Addams inventou os Addams. E, desde que Charles Addams criou para os quadrinhos a excêntrica família de hábitos macabros, nos anos 1930, eles não pararam.

Já estiveram na TV, como seriado e como desenho animado, no cinema e, agora, a bizarra trupe ganha, nos palcos, uma versão musical.

A montagem de "A Família Addams" tem grande elenco, liderado por Marisa Orth - estreando no gênero na pele da mórbida e sensual Morticia - e Daniel Boaventura (que no ano passado viveu Juan Perón, em "Evita") como o apaixonado Gomez.

O mote da história é a paixão da adolescente Wandinha, filha do casal, por um jovem de família tradicional, um pesadelo para os Addams, que abominam a normalidade.

Para Marisa Orth, a montagem que retrata esse grupo de pessoas orgulhosas de suas esquisitices não poderia ser mais oportuna, nesses tempos politicamente corretos. "Eles são kitsch, eu sou kitsch e acho isso chiquérrimo", afirma a atriz.

O espetáculo, que conta com 25 atores, maquiagem, figurino, muita música e alguns efeitos especiais vai mostrar por que os Addams, há anos, conseguem preservar sua identidade e temer o ordinário.

The history is as unique as Addams Family. An Addams Addams invented. And since Charles Addams created for the comic macabre habits eccentric family in the 1930s, they did not stop.

They've been on TV, and as such animated series, movies, and now the bizarre troupe wins, on stage, a musical version.

The production of "The Addams Family" has a great cast, led by Marisa Orth - debuting in the genre in the skin of morbid Morticia and sensual - and Daniel Boaventura (who last year lived Juan Peron in "Evita") as passionate Gomez.
