Revision Notes – MOVISAFE® HM316

3 New functions in versions V10.x/V15.x3.1 Reload function

V10.x/V15.x have the following new functions:

• Reload of the safeethernet configuration• Reload of the configuration for alarms and events• Cold reload

The COM module, which is not reload-capable, is switched to STOP during the re-load and is switched back to RUN afterwards. This happens automatically with amessage box.

4Improvements compared to V8.x/V13.xSystem functions

Revision Notes – MOVISAFE® HM31 7

4 Improvements compared to V8.x/V13.xThe versions V10.x/V15.x contain the following improvements.

4.1 System functions1. System variable Read-only in RUN with correct function.

Disables the STOP command for a user with operator rights.

2. No breach of the Watchdog time during the reload phase "Cleanup".

In very rare cases in the previous version, the flash file system caused timeout ofthe Watchdog time during the reload phase "Cleanup" with reduced Watchdog buf-fer time. This resulted in an error stop of the PES.

3. Programs with statuses deviating from the system status are displayed as systemerror or system warning.

Programs with statuses deviating from the system status are displayed in the con-trol panel according to their classification either as system error or system warning.

4. The memory space used by the user program is displayed as entire memoryblocks.

The CPU operating system manages the memory space used by the user programin memory blocks. With version V10.x, the parameter of the memory used by auser program calculates the value from the size of the memory blocks. In contrastto the previous versions, unused memory space is contained in the value in the lastmemory block.

5. Undervoltage in an auxiliary voltage results in a safe state for all channels. Exceed-ing the total current or undervoltage in an auxiliary voltage results in a safe state ofall channels, not only a few.

6. The statistics for the connection data of the connections to PADTs and remote I/Osare resettable.

7. Configured communication time slice Max. com. time slice ASYNC [ms] are consid-ered in the displayed Buffer for Watchdog time [ms]

The setting of the communication time slice can be changed by downloading or re-loading.

Version V10.x accepts a reload also for a displayed buffer for Watchdog time = 0 ifthe actual remaining time is sufficient for the reload. The compatibility regarding ex-isting projects remains.

8. Reload resets online-changed parameters for all user programs.

In previous versions, the reload did not reset online-changed parameters back tothe configuration value for user programs that did not require changes to be loa-ded. V10 resets all online-changed parameters to the values of the configuration.

9. No restarts for no apparent reason

In rare cases in V10.6/V15.6, the system restarted for no apparent reason. In theoperating system V10.32/V15.6, the settings for the arbiter logic of the process-ori-ented bus were changed from "fixed" to "fair". This avoids situations that lead to arestart.

10.New error texts in V10.32 are not displayed in diagnostics for SILworX® E4.116 asthe database of V4 does not know them.

4 Improvements compared to V8.x/V13.xCommunication

Revision Notes – MOVISAFE® HM318

4.2 Communication1. Default setting for LLDP is now "deactivated".

If LLDP is required in a project in the process module or the communication mod-ule, the function must be activated or parameterized.

In previous versions, the default setting for LLDP was "activated".

5Restrictions in versions V10.x/V15.x

Revision Notes – MOVISAFE® HM31 9

5 Restrictions in versions V10.x/V15.xResource configurations are invalid after operating system updates. The following procedure leads to the resource configuration becoming invalid:

1. Deleting a user program that contains retrain data via reload

2. Adding two user programs that contain retain data in the same reload or in one orseveral subsequent reloads

3. Updating the operating systemAfter starting the operating system, the PES switches to STOP/INVALID CONFIGU-RATION: The diagnostics history contains the following entry:"LS: Program retain variable signature does not match."

INFORMATION• Only combine those versions of the processor operating system (CPU module)

and the communication operating system (COM module) that are approved forcombined use. The update of the operating systems of the processor module andthe communication module is only possible in STOP state.

• Also observe the information in chapter "Loading of operating systems" in the "De-centralized Safety Controller MOVISAFE® HM31 (Version PFF-HM31A)" operatinginstructions.

Update the loading program for the operating system before updating the operatingsystem. The described sequences must be adhered to!1. Connect to the COM module via system login and update the loading program for

the operating system. The COM module restarts.

2. Connect to the COM module via module login (hardware online view). Update theCOM operating system. The COM module restarts.

3. Connect to the CPU module via system login and update the loading program forthe operating system. The CPU module restarts.

4. Connect to the CPU module and update the CPU operating system. The CPUmodule restarts.

The operating system was updated.
