The following are the results of the interview conducted to provide additional information about the study Spiritual Nursing Care Rendered by the Staff Nurses at St. John Hospital. “Providing spiritual nursing care to a patient will have an impact on the patient as a whole, it is part of my holistic care to do such”.

“I think spiritual nursing is important. Kasi pag nagcacare tayo sa patient, dapat as a whole. Hindi lang yung sa physical or health need. Especially dito sa ICU, na ang mga patient terminally ill na. At least before sila mamatay, dapat magrender tayo ng spiritual care para ma serve natin sila as a whole”

“Yes of course it’s important because it adds to the patient’s holistic care.”

“I believe as a nurse we must do something about the spiritual aspect of our patients. A problem in one aspect can affect the others.

“So kami, as nurses tig aalleviate na lang naming si pain niya, syempre listening kung anong mga concerns niya tapos tig eencourage na icontinue yung religious rituals niya para ma uplift yung sarili niya”

“Itong patient ko ngayon, seventh day Adventist. Pag mag request sila, halimbawa gusto nila magplay ng religious song, inaallow naming yun. Pag catholic naman and gusto nila mag pa anoint, inaassist namin sila”

“As of now I haven’t experienced patients who really need spiritual care but when I do my rounds I usually say to my patients that they can do any rituals that can help them relax.”

“ Makiulay ka nalang tapos garo listener ka nalang most of the time. In a way makakatabang ka sainda aside sa daily routines ta.”

“Spiritual care? Here, we provide emergency baptism to babies who died.”
