Time of change for HL7 UK• Shift away from being dominated by UK National

Programme• Previously a good source of material, news,

attendees• Left us with a gap to fill...a need to evolve• Less need to be a source of technical support

V3 now well established• Take up varies from nation to nation• Local politics and policy• UK has led the way (billions of messages)• Other countries now have large deployments• Especially including CDA, even in the US.• US picture changing with new administration?

V3 now well established• Many UK people engage direct with .Org• 18 from UK at last WGM in US• 10+ with official positions in .Org• No need to support them• HL7 UK wants to reach out to those who haven’t

had a chance to get fully involved yet• Marketing and awareness raising...

– Took us a while to make this switch of mindset

Marketing focus• Regroup after quiet few months• Moving web platform took some effort• First push was annual conference, earlier than

usual• About 100 attendees, less than our peak, but

respectable...and feedback very good• More competition this year

stuff• Now 6 meetings in less than 6 months

– Around 300 people who know more about HL7 than they did before

• Membership doing well
