Declaración de Misión Esto es lo que nosotros somos. Esto es lo que seguimos Esto es lo que cada uno de nosotros es llamado para lucir o brillar a los demás la Misión de la Iglesia de María Inmaculada. Es de crear un ambiente en el cual nuestra Fe crece, predicando la Buena Nueva, celebrando los sacramentos y ofreciendo la Eucaristía donde muchos se hacen uno alrededor de la mesa del Señor. Difundiendo el amor a nuestra Madre María Santísima y sirviendo a la comunidad.

Mission Statement This is what we are. This is what we follow. This is what each of us is called to do, to illuminate or shine to others the Mission of the Church of Mary Immaculate. It is to create an environment in which our faith grows, preaching the Gospel, celebrating the sacraments and offering the Eucharist where many become one around the Lord's Table. 3er Domingo de Pascua Queridos hermanos (as), Hoy nos vamos a detener en el modo de la presencia de Jesús Resucitado en su comunidad, que constitu-ye una verdadera novedad y es la nota característica de la fe Cristiana. En la primera lectura la valentía de Pedro para predicar el perdón de los pecadores y llamar a la conversión reconoce que los israelitas han matado a Cristo por ignorancia, pero que de esta manera Dios cumplió sus designios de salvación. Por tanto, arrepiéntanse y conviértense, para que se bo-rren sus pecados. Pero eso no termina ahí, debemos tener la actitud de ser sinceros para reconocer que nuestros pecados han causado la muerte de Cristo. Hemos de ser humildes para reconocer nuestros pe-cados y pedir perdón. Hemos de ser valientes para confesar que Cristo ha resucitado. San Juan en la se-gunda lectura nos recuerda que Cristo triunfa sobre nuestro pecado. Nos perdona con su muerte y resu-rrección y sigue intercediendo por nosotros ante el Padre. En el Evangelio, Cristo, nos da unas palabras llenas de esperanza y confianza y nos invita a no tener mie-do… Cristo esta en medio de nosotros porque ha resucitado y sigue estando presente entre nosotros en la Eucaristía. Está presente en su cuerpo, sangre, alma y divinidad. Lo contemplamos realmente pre-sente bajo las especies sacramentales. Jesús, encuen-tra a sus discípulos haciendo oración y les devuelve la confianza y la paz. Nada de temores. El esta entre ellos para comer pescado, para conversar, para ver sus problemas, para trabajar juntos, para explicarles su mensaje. De esta experiencia surge la característi-ca de una comunidad verdaderamente cristiana: la alegría. Una alegría que es posible verdaderamente en la confianza y en la paz interna y en la serena rela-ción del pueblo de Dios.

3rd Sunday of Easter Dear brothers and sisters, Today we will continue to live in this mode of pres-ence of the Risen Jesus in his community, which is a real novelty and is the chief characteristic of the Christian faith. In the first reading courage of Peter to preach the forgiveness of sins and a call to re-pentance recognizes that the Israelites have killed Christ out of ignorance, but that God fulfilled his plans of salvation in this way. Therefore, repent and convert your lives, so that your sins will be forgiv-en. But that is not enough, for we must have the attitude of sincerity to recognize that our sins have caused the death of Christ. We must be humble enough to recognize our sins and ask for for-giveness. W emus be courageous to confess that Christ is risen. In the second reading St. John re-minds us that Christ has been victorious over our sin. He forgives us with his death and resurrection and continues to intercede with us before the Fa-ther. In the Gospel today, Christ gives us words full of hope and confidence and invites us not to be afraid… Christ is in our midst because he has risen and continues to be present amongst us in the Eu-charist. He is present in his body, his blood, soul and divinity. We contemplate him truly present un-der the sacramental species. Jesus finds his disciples in prayer and returns their confidence anew and grants them peace. There is no fear. He is amongst them to eat fish, to converse, to attend to their problems, to work together, to explain his mission to them. From this experience there surges that characteristic of a community that is truly Chris-tian: joy. A joy that is truly possible only if it relies on the trust and the interior peace and the gentle relationship of the people of God.

With the resurrection Christ has conquered death. He did not dwell in the dark power at all. Today the Church invites us to fight with force against that “culture of death” which seeks to take power over our society. Lord Jesus, strengthen us to live an existence against the many forms of slavery of death amongst us. Cristo, con su resurrección, ha vencido la muerte. No permaneció para nada en sus dominios. Hoy la Iglesia nos invita a luchar con fuerza contra esa “cultura de la muerte” que se está adueñando de nuestra sociedad. Se-ñor Jesús, haz que vívamos una existencia libre de esclavitudes de muerte.

CALIFORNIA "END of LIFE OPTION ACT"

(Senate Bill 128) The California Catholic Conference, along with a broad coalition of physicians, nurses, disability rights and health care advocates, is opposing proposed legislation (SB 128) that would legalize physician assisted suicide in California. SB 128 would legalize physician-assisted suicide in CA. Pope Francis reminds us, "The biblical com-mandment to honor our parents reminds us in a broader sense of our duty to honor all elderly peo-ple." Entrenamiento de Virtus (Protegiendo los niños de Dios) en Español

2 de mayo 2015 de 4pm a 7pm en el Salón P. Luciano

El entrenamiento de Virtus es para las personas que dan su servicio a la parroquia como ministros de Eucaristía, catequistas, ujieres, etc., y no han toma-do el entrenamiento de Virtus (Protegiendo los ni-ños de Dios) anteriormente. Este entrenamiento será el día sábado 2 de mayo de 4pm a 7pm. Favor de llamar a la oficina parroquial para anotarse, el espa-cio es limitado y NO SE PERMITEN NIÑOS. Es importante llegar a tiempo y estar presente durante toda la clase, no se les dará el certificado si llega tarde o si se va temprano. Es importante mantener los hijos de Dios seguros. Todo el clero, miembros de personal de la parroquia/escuela y voluntarios que trabajan regularmente supervisando niños o jó-venes deben tomar el entrenamiento adecuado.

Spanish Virtus Training (Protecting God’s Children)

May 2, 2015 from 4pm –7pm in the Small Hall The Virtus training is for people who give their ser-vice to the parish as a Eucharistic minister, catechist, usher, etc.., and have not previously taken the Virtus training (Protecting God's Children). This training will be on Saturday, May 2nd from 4pm to 7pm. Please call the parish office to sign up, space is lim-ited and CHILDREN ARE NOT PERMITED. It is important to arrive on time and to be present the entire time of the class, you will not be given a cer-tificate of completion if you arrive late or leave ear-

ly. It is important to keep God’s children safe. All clergy, paid parish/school personnel and volunteers who work regularly in a supervisory role with children or youth must have taken the ap-propriate training.

Child Abuse Prevention Month Petitions

As we celebrate April as National Child Abuse Pre-vention Month, may we, as the people of God, continue to grow in our commitment to protecting our children and young people from all forms of child abuse, we pray to the Lord. We join our Holy Father Pope Francis in his prayer for victims of abuse as he asks the universal Church to “humbly acknowledge and repair past injustices and to remain ever faithful in the work of protecting those closest to the heart of Jesus,” we pray to the Lord. For all caring adults who have been educated through VIRTUS® child sexual abuse prevention programs, may God bless their efforts to be the “ears, eyes and voice” of children and young people everywhere, we pray to the Lord

A Prayer for Healing

Holy Spirit, comforter of hearts, heal your people’s wounds and transform brokenness into wholeness. Grant us the courage and wisdom, humility and grace, to act with justice. Breathe wisdom into our prayers and labors. Grant that all harmed by abuse may find peace and justice. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen
