5th Sunday of Easter

1. A special thank you for your prayers, your notes of encouragement and support, your goodies, and your thoughtfulness over these past several weeks! I am blessed to serve this parish family! 2. A very happy and blessed Mother’s Day to all the mothers, grandmothers, and godmothers of our parish. God bless you for your love, and may the Blessed Virgin Mary keep you in God’s perfect love always. 3. This Sunday, May 10 Eucharistic Adoration will take place in the school vestibule (the front of the school) from 12 noon to 4 pm. You are asked to remain in your cars to keep physical distancing while adoring the Blessed Sacrament. Since the parking lot is very small, and can only accommodate so many cars, perhaps those interested in participating could spread out their time of visits. 4. We have some exciting news – this summer, St. Joseph Parish will be blessed to have a seminarian from the Diocese of Harrisburg with us! Andrew Kappenhagen is currently studying at St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore. He just completed Theology II this year. His home parish is Queen of Peace in Millersburg. You can find more information about our seminarians here: https://www.hbgdiocese.org/clergy/vocations/seminarians. Andrew will be joining us from May 24 to July 19. Let’s extend to him a great St. Joe’s welcome, as he continues his pastoral formation for the priesthood. As you may know, our parish assessment this year is $106,484. So far, as of April 30, we have pledges totaling $37,865 and cash received amounting to $48,950. This gives us a total of $86,815, which means that we’re almost 82% of the way to our goal! Thank you very much for your continued generosity and support – I truly appreciate it all!!

God bless your week – Fr. Marcoe

MAY WE PRAY FOR YOU? Do you have someone, a situation, or something you would like the Church to pray for? If so, please send your intentions to the parish via email or regular mail. We will print them out and place them on the altar to be prayed for in our weekly intentions. We hope this is one more way we can remain united with one another spiritually, even though physically we are still separated. HERSHEYPARK TICKET ORDERS If you ordered tickets for Hersheypark, they will arrive at the parish in mid-May. Due to the current pandemic, their opening day has changed to June 1st. All tickets will be honored through June 1, 2021. PARISH ADDRESS CHANGE REMINDER When Montour County had the readdressing project almost 3 years ago, St. Joseph Church’s address changed. The parish address is 68 Center St. Danville, PA 17821. There are many parishioners still addressing mail to the former address. Please update your address books/information. The post office has been very kind in delivering our mail with the former address on the envelope. Thank you for you attention to this matter! DIOCESAN ANNUAL CAMPAIGN The 2020 Diocesan Annual Campaign is underway. Our goal for this year is $106,484.00. Any donations collected that exceed our goal come back to the parish. Thank you for your generosity! REFLECTION FOR OUR 150TH “Sunday has the additional value of being a testimony and a proclamation.
