INFORMATION CARD

COMPANY PROFILE CRM is a dynamic company specialized in weld overlay and special joining by weld. The founder, Eng. GALLO Mario, set up in 1963 a small workshop in Milan for weld repair and maintenance for mechanical and concrete industries. The generational turn over took place in the first half of the seventies with the entry of the founder's sons (Eng. Antonio and Giampaolo GALLO) who gave a new address, starting the first weld overlay activities for petrochemical industries. In 1975 the company moved in the new industrial building in Cambiago (MI) to expanding the weld overlay core business. In 1992 the son of Eng. Antonio, Eng. Claudio GALLO, started to work in the company developing the control and quality department and in 2000 the company got ISO 9002 certification by Moody International Certification revised in 2003 in accordance with the ISO 9001:2000 standard and in 2009 in accordance with the ISO 9001:2008 standard. Actually Eng. Claudio GALLO is the principal owner of company after generational turn over happened in the first years of new millennium.

STANDARD WELDING PROCEDURE Submerged arc (SAW) process with single wire Submerged arc (SAW) process with double wire: twin arc or tandem arc Submerged arc (SAW) process with strip GTAW manual and automatic: this procedure allows us to surfacing on internal diameter from 1-1/2" and over. GMAW manual and automatic pulsed arc with solid and flux cored wires.

SPECIAL APPLICATION • Overlay by wire or strip on balls, bodies and flanges for valves • Overlay by wire or strip on tube sheets and bottom head • Wire overlay on internal diameter of flanges, gates, tubes, bends etc. with the following

limits: - Int. Diam. 1-1/2" max length 500 mm - " " 2" " " 800 mm - " " 3" " 2000 mm

Note: the above int. diam. and max length are only indicative as it is possible to extend the limits through small modifications to our equipment.

• Robotized weld overlay on nozzles with horizontal axis fixed and welded to vessel. • In hard wearing fields we carry out high thickness hardfacing (up to 100 mm) by special

technique and complex carbides alloys. • Butt weld by SAW process and “narrow gap” technique up to 250 mm thickness. • Butt weld body/closures for “fully welded” valves by automatic equipment with 2

welding heads using a glycol cooling system in order to preserve from overheating the seats and ball.

QUALIFICATIONS We have many Welding Procedures Qualifications approved by: RINA - LLOYD'S REGISTER - DET NORSKE VERITAS - BUREAU VERITAS – TÜV ISTITUTO ITALIANO DELLA SALDATURA - AMERICAN BUREAU OF SHIPPING – ISPESL.

Typical CRM’s processes and production

GMAW Process Using proper weld techniques can minimize distortions and weld dilution. Using stainless steel and nickel base alloy filler metal the corrosion resistance of weld overlay clad surfaces approaches that wrought material. Weld overlay is applied to internal and/or external surfaces for a variety of applications in all alloy surfacing and erosion resistant hardfacing. Typical examples include the following: Body valves from 4” on up ball and bonnet (all correspondent sizes) Flanges (all type), nozzles and manholes Heat exchanger shells and tube sheets Barred tees Elbows from 6” on up

GTAW Process When the dimension of components are smaller CRM supplies weld overlay by GTAW automatic/mechanised process. In general GTAW offer closer control of dilution levels than GMAW process. Control of deposit thickness, possible by GTAW process, means saving in consumable costs and subsequent machining time

where applicable. Typical examples include the following: Body valves from 2” Flanges LWN from 1 ½” Pipes (all correspondent sizes)

Page 8: Rev del 20.01 - Expo Valve

SAW Process For larger applications SAW process by wire or strip consumables offer high depositions rates. SAW process by strip consumables and a welding parameter carefully control offer a closer control of dilution rates. However the process requires a large surfaces or diameter up to 800 mm. CRM is specialized in joint welding with standard groove and, by special SAW equipment, for weld narrow gap grooves from 10 to 150 mm thk. and over. The dimensions of narrow gap groove offer very close joint and minimize the weight of consumables. CRM’s typical SAW welding applications: overlay on shell, tube sheet, roller ecc. welding of fully welded valve, body valve to pipe or flanges, body press, ecc.

HARDFACING CRM supplies special overlay called “hardfacing”. This process consist of the application of hard metals alloys to surfaces that are subject to destructive wear in order to repair or rebuilding the wearing components or prevent the erosion on new

components.

Most of the hard alloys are applied by the open arc welding process using automatic welding equipment. Typical examples include the following: plugs for plug valves concrete/rock crushers dust separators gears pipe for petrol cracking hammers for forging industries
