FCPS Student Support Approach to RTS: Going Deeper
As the division transitions to a new
hybrid/concurrent learning
environment, we must ensure that all
students receive the necessary
supports to achieve success.
The division’s Affirm, Assess, Advance
approach is designed as a mechanism
to simplify while deepening our supports
for students, staff, and our community.
11
SCHOOL REFLECTION PROTOCOL
Affirming: Do I fully see my students and staff? How can I position myself and others to learn about all the ways change has been experienced across our collective school community?
Assessing: Are the conditions for learning, belonging, engagement sufficient for our school community?
Advancing: Based on my assessment, how do I ensure engagement in the things most important on a daily basis? How do I use data and other evidence to guide these decisions?
12
FCPS STUDENT SUPPORT APPROACH TO RTSPRIORITIZING OUR CARING CULTURE AND STUDENT SUCCESS IN RETURN TO SCHOOL
All schools have a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) team and process in place to identify students in
need of academic, attendance, or wellness interventions.
