Phase 1: Acute phaseSuggested criteria for progressing to Phase 2:
• Resolution of active inflammatory process• Full pain-free active/passive foot and ankle ROM• Normalized pain-free walking gait• Single leg WB’ing control (SL stance for 30 seconds)
Phase 2: Low load phaseSuggested criteria for progressing to Phase 3:
• Pain-free 90% + baseline range of motion• Symmetry/return to baseline static balance• No adverse reactions to low load training
Phase 3: Progressive functional loading phase: Suggested criteria for progressing to Phase 4:
• 90% baseline/limb symmetry for functional performance tests• 90%+ strength compared to contralateral/uninvolved side• Maximal intensity acceleration, deceleration and maximal velocity running• Completion of lateral and multidirectional running (predictable/unpredictable)• Reactive agility testing• Dorsa Vi AMI• No adverse reaction to rehab or testing
