Retrailia RV Resorts April 2016 Newsletter Message From the President Well, Spring has sprung (sort of), Easter has come and gone, and our parks have opened for the season. We are all excited for the camping, events, cook-offs, etc. that are coming with the new year. Being able to get together with old friends and make new ones is one of the many benefits of a Retrailia membership and, as a member myself, I’m always talking about this great organization to anyone that will listen to me. I have a small favor to ask of everyone. We need our current members to spread the word about Retrailia to family and friends. This would be a win-win situation for all involved. Retrailia would get fantastic new members and the referring member would get a credit on their account to use towards future purchases (dependent upon referral signing up for a membership). Please help us keep Retrailia healthy, happy, and growing by doing any of the following: Share with everyone the upcoming Spring Kick-off on April 23rd (more details following in this newsletter). This would be a great event to introduce your friends and family to Retrailia. Feel free to bring them with you to the event. Hand out our marketing tri-fold with the referral coupon to friends and family. You can get a copy of the tri-fold in the Members’ Area of our website under Documents. Bring a friend camping with you so they can see our parks. Submit referrals to the corporate office. I want to thank all of you that have renewed and paid for your 2016 season. It is encouraging to see that we continue to have people that believe in this great organization. Diane Williams, Pre-Season Park Clean-Up We hope everyone is looking forward to camping. As you can imagine, with winter winding down and the parks sitting dormant for the last 4 months, some clean-up is required to get the parks back into shape for Spring camping. The park managers are looking for volunteers who are willing to spend a few hours raking leaves, cleaning up debris and trash, and fertilizing lawns. No heavy lifting or hard labor is Est. 09/17/2015

Message From the PresidentWell, Spring has sprung (sort of), Easter has come and gone, and our parks have opened for the season.

We are all excited for the camping, events, cook-offs, etc. that are coming with the new year. Being able to get together with old friends and make new ones is one of the many benefits of a Retrailia membership and, as a member myself, I’m always talking about this great organization to anyone that will listen to me.

Spring Kick-OffWe invite all of our members to come join us on April 23rd at

Mike Robertson has accepted the opportunity to teach a Dutch Oven cooking class. The class will start at 11 am. He will also raffle off a Dutch oven and a lid lifter. Tickets will be $2 each, or 3 for $5. You can also enjoy lunch for $5 a plate.

Don’t forget to book your reservations today.

Park Highlight—Echo Island RanchEcho Island Ranch is in a prime area in Utah, making it

convenient and easy to visit. The activities in the area are so numerous that we worry this little spotlight might turn into a novel. Echo Island Ranch is watched over by our wonderful managers Gary and Carol Price-just one of the reasons we all love to visit Echo Island Ranch.

Echo Island Ranch is only 5 minutes from Echo Reservoir. Park City Ski Resorts and the Tanger Shopping Center are only 15 minutes away. Salt Lake City, Ogden and Evanston are only 45 minutes away! The adage “Location, location, location” rings very true when speaking about Retrailia RV Resorts’ largest park.

Echo Island Ranch is, year after year, the busiest park in our network. There are many reasons why the Echo is so popular, aside from its location. The park is near several beautiful lakes and many recreation opportunities.

Echo Reservoir is the nearest body of water to Echo Island Ranch and consequently where it derives its name; and it sits almost right in the middle of the countryside between Salt Lake City and the Utah/Wyoming border. Rockport Reservoir, another gorgeous body of water, is about a 20-minute drive from the park.

Both lakes are fantastic for fishing, but Echo Reservoir is a Northern Utah fishing hotspot with big Brown and Rainbow Trout lurking in its deeper waters. One piece of fishing advice is to troll across the lake dragging a rapalla or stick to the shorelines and drop-offs and fish for Smallmouth Bass, catfish or perch. The fish in these areas are large and active making them great trophies, or for wonderful stories later that night around the camp fire. The best months for fishing are May and June; however, ice fishing is also popular in the wintertime. The Weber River, which runs through Echo Island Ranch, is an excellent blue-ribbon trout fishery, and is very popular with fly fisherman. Always check local and State regulations prior to fishing.

Fishing isn’t the only fun to be had at these lakes. Water-skiing, power-boating, kayaking and canoeing are all great ways to pass the time while camping at our great park.

Another fun attraction in the area is the historic Union Pacific Rail Trail State Park. It is a 28-mile trail for non-motorized use only. The trail head is at Echo Reservoir and follows Interstate 80 through Wanship

and Coalville to Park City. Activities include hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, jogging, Nordic skiing and wildlife watching. It’s a great hike and is only minutes from Echo Island Ranch.

This is just a small sampling of the activities available in the area. The recreational opportunities are numerous and seem to be expanding every year.

Gary & Carol Price, the managers at Echo Island Ranch, originally came from the high desert of California. They made their living by operating a small business for 30 years, selling, installing & repairing sound systems to the used & new car dealers in their area, as well as the public.

Gary & Carol retired in 2006 and began traveling in their Motorhome and eventually became members of Camperworld. For this reason, they decided to come to Utah to see and visit the parks in the Camperworld system. While in Utah they learned that the company needed Hosts at Echo Island and that began their new adventure. They began this adventure in 2009 and were with Camperworld until 2015; they are now proud to be continuing with Retrailia RV Resorts. They spent their winters in Arizona as work campers the first year than came back to Duchesne, Utah and hosted the Lakeside Park in 2010. After returning to Utah in 2011 we asked them to manage Knotty Pine. They did so for 2 ½ years. They then went to Hot Springs, then back to Duchesne, but are now at Echo Island where they hope to be for quite a while.

Gary and Carol have been married for 54 years and have three daughters; sadly, they lost their oldest 20 years ago. They have six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, spreading from California to South Carolina. Their hobbies, when their girls were younger, were camping, fishing and driving dune buggies in the sand dunes of the California deserts.

Of all the states they have visited after their retirement, Utah has been their favorite. It is beautiful and comes with the four seasons, unlike California.

If you have the chance, please stop into the office and say hi to Gary & Carol. They are a lot of fun and wonderful to talk to. They have a vast amount of knowledge in regards to the area, the other parks, our company and are always happy to chat with you.

So, as you can see Echo Island Ranch deserves and is rightfully one of our most popular parks. We can’t wait to see you this summer resting under the shade of the trees, catching a fish or just relaxing in this idyllic park.

Business Partner Network

Retrailia RV Resorts wants to give your boss a reason to pat you on the back!

Retrailia RV Resorts recently launched its Business Partner Network. This program is an excellent opportunity for companies in the Recreational Vehicle, ATV, Boating and outdoor-related industries to give their customers the added bonus of doing business with them by offering two free nights of camping at any of our beautiful parks.

The Business Partner Network program is fairly simple and easy for a prospective company to implement. The program works as follows: For every new Retrailia RV Resorts membership we sell that is generated from a referral that originates from said company, they will receive a check for either $100.00 or $200.00. Pretty simple right? We really want to make this simple for companies to implement; not only will they not have to give us any

Page 5: Retrailia RV Resorts - cdn.sqhk.cocdn.sqhk.co/camperworld/jBE0XjX/April_2016_Newsletter.pdf · Retrailia RV Resorts April 2016 Newsletter Message From the President Well, Spring has

of their customer information but they can give their customers an added bonus for doing business with them.

The way Retrailia gathers potential leads for new memberships is by giving our partners’ employees and sales people the power to give away a free 2-night stay at any of our RV resorts with no hidden costs. When your customer or referral redeems their 2 nights of camping, we then collect their information for reservation purposes. This allows us to narrow the referrals down to the potential customers that are truly interested in our product. So, as you can see, we aren’t asking for our partners to give us any of their customer information; we are only asking our partners to give their clients a little something extra. For doing this we will give the referring company either a check for $200.00 for every referral that purchases either a new Retrailia Multi-Park membership or $100.00 for every Retrailia Single Park membership that originated from the referring organization.

If the company you, your friends or family work for might be interested in participating in this program please contact the corporate office at 801.255.8166 to get started. Thanks in advance for helping Retrailia RV Resorts grow and find success.

• $75.00 - Balance of Zions Bank Donation accountRetrailia has set up a separate bank account at Zions Bank that

will be holding all the money earned from the different fund raising events as well as any unsolicited donations received. An accounting of those funds will be sent out in each monthly newsletter. Everyone will get to see what money came in and where it was spent.

If you would like to make a donation please visit the Members’ Area and click on: “Make a Payment”. Please use the word “donation” in the payment for field.

Bacon Wrapped Cheese Hot DogsSubmitted by: Barbara Bakes

INGREDIENTS

• 8 Hot Dogs

• ½ cup Shredded Cheese

• 16 slices bacon, pre-cooked

• 8 hot dog buns, toasted

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Slice each hot dog lengthwise down the middle almost, but not all the way through.

2. Fill the pocket with a little shredded cheese. (I use Shredded Colby Monterey Jack).3. Wrap the hot dog with two slices of thin-sliced, pre-cooked bacon. Secure bacon with toothpicks if

necessary. (I use Costco Hormel frozen fully cooked bacon that I thaw in the microwave for about 30 seconds so that it easier to wrap around the hot dogs).

4. Bake approximately 10 minutes until cheese is melted and the bacon and hot dog are heated through.
