EXCAVATION Soil was leveled out and built up within boundaries of the proposed wall site

GRAVEL BASE A 6” trench was dug beneath proposed wall and filled with a gravel base

SAND LAYER A layer of sand 3” thick was leveled and compacted on top of the gravel base

BRICK LAY The wall was built up with an altering brick arrangement and cemented together with masonry adhesive

BACKFILL A layer of 6” gravel was also filled in on the backside of the wall to prevent frost heave from jeopardizing the wall’s integrity during the winter months

Construction Process

GOALS: • Eliminate erosion into neighbor’s yard • Create aesthetically-pleasing space that separates spaces

between property line • “Overbuild” to ensure durability and longevity
