PROJECTS
JSEAS Aircraft Model (JAM)JAM is the aircraft model that JSEAS uses to determine safe separation. While working on the JAM project I'm responsible for fixing and enhancing the software. Conducting studies and implementing new features such as splitting the databases so countries only get data on planes that they use and switching the code to use a different type of database and general enhancements such as backwards compatibility and displaying input ranges.
Working on the JSEAS (Joint Safe Escape Analysis Software) coding in C# and working within the JMPS framwork and JAM (JSEAS Aircraft Model).
Northrop Grumman DS&T, Hollywood, MD August 1997 – June 2015Senior Software Engineer
PROJECTS
Precision Guided Munitions Planning Software (PGMPS) Weapon Planning System (WPS) 2002 – Present:PGMPS gives the Air Force a common, integrated, personal computer-based mission planning application for all current and future USAF PGMs and their variants. PGMPS is a unique planning component of the Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS). Over the years I have been responsible for the design and implementation of components of the PGMPS system such as user interfaces, business logic, auto plan, rapid planning tool and many other components. I’m currently the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) task lead. In this role my responsibilities include developing software for other countries (ex. Oman, UAE, Indonesia and others) while making sure the other countries only have access to data that they should have. As FMS task lead I have provided technical consult to other companies (ex. Raytheon, Lockheed, and Boeing) that supply third party software that PGMPS uses to help complete requirements. I have many years of experience on this project and that has lead coworkers to seek my help on design issues, help fix problems with the software, and help train new hires.
Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) 2002 – 2002:MIDS is a military radio system for the distribution of information, position location and identification between different military elements, such as aircrafts, ships and radar systems. A communication net is set up between these elements to distribute the information. I helped refine requirements by meeting with the customer and inputting the changes into Doors. After the design phase I developed a mock up demo of the user interface using Delphi that simulated the screens pilots would see in the cockpit.
Joint Defensive Planner (JDP) 2001 – 2002:JDP is a segment of the Theater Battle Management Core Systems (TBMCS) environment, which will be compliant with Defense Information Infrastructure Common Operating Environment (DII COE), Global Command and Control System (GCCS), and TBMCS standards. The JDP is a mission application for the TBMCS. The purpose of JDP is to assist in the development of an Air Defense Plan (ADP) that meets the projected threat with an optimized employment of available sensors and weapons. I was responsible for implementing major functionality changes such as adding cancel buttons to six type definition windows and two abort buttons to the Radar Placement and Optimization (RPO) and Minimum Risk Routing (MRR) functions that can take up to eight hours to run. These functions are at the heart of JDP and needed a process to abort them safely without harm to the system.
Fast Time Analysis System (FTAS) 1997 - 2001: The FTAS module is used in the Navy Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) community to analyze data recorded aboard P-3 aircraft in speed up to sixteen times real time. I was responsible for programming new functionality and creating new screens. The old system consists of both Sun workstations and Motorola 68030 single board computers and the new system runs on Windows NT. The software for the Sun component is written in C and utilizes the Solaris operating system and the Motif graphical user interface and the new system is written in C and Visual C++.
