    =n the last &art o" the s#r$e%, we as(ed the res&ondents to state their le$el o" the

    agree!ent thro#gh the "ollowing &olitical state!ents. t is in this &art that the res&ondents

    reactions $ar% hea$il% and the !aorit% o" the! ha$e !i>ed o&inions with each other. 'ig#re 4

    shows that o#t o" the state!ents, onl% 30/ &ercent o" the res&ondents strongl% agree to the

    general the!e o" the state!ents, which is that &olitical &artici&ation is i!&ortant "or the

    e>&lanation to this res#lt is that the% ha$e not %et "#ll% achie$ed the "#ll &otential o" &olitical

     &artici&ation and its e""ect in their li$es. Another e>&lanation is that there is a general, dee&-

    seated c%nicis! and a shortage o" a sense o" sel"-e""icac% in the go$ern!ent, which has li(el%

    contri+#ted to the res&ondents ass#rance that their &olitical &artici&ation are not +eing t to

    waste +% an ine""ecti$e go$ern!ent. All the !ost that the% do is e>&ress o&inions thro#gh social

    networ(s. ?o#ng &eo&le are (eenl% aware o" the histor% o" acti$is! in the Phili&&ines, +#t there

    is little desire to +eco!e in$ol$ed in traditional !ethods o" &olitical action, s#ch as oining

    rallies or organiing social !o$e!ents. Since dail% li"e is so thic(l% &er!eated with

    o&&ort#nities "or sel"-e>&ression online, this "or! o" engage!ent is the !ost &olar, the

    chea&est, and the easiest.
