CarrefourInternationaldu Bois 2012$ The Show
Total success for the show that did not cede to morosityExtract of the show results press release
530 exhibitors, of which 30% were foreign and 10 000 trade visitors coming from 68 countries (excluding France): the show in 2012 confirmed its position as the event that is not to be missed for the European timber industry and showed the dynamism of the market players.
The stand reservations that started early and the announcement that there would be as many visitors as in 2010, including numerous foreign visitors, allowed to imagine a success and the figures confirmed this assumption.

The Carrefour International du Bois has shown yet again that it keeps pace with an industry that has been able to persevere against the onslaughts that weaken the markets.” Of course, the industry has the economic crisis in mind, but there is growth in the construction sector especially for transformed wooden products”.“The success of the Carrefour 2012 has shown that no company is being defeated by the economic climate.” The analyses of Pierre Piveteau the tradeshow Chairman, has been confirmed by the majority of the exhibitors. “If there is one show where one must be present, it is the Carrefour du Bois” pointed out a local sawmill present since the beginnings of the show. An opinion, which is largely shared, by first time and regular exhibitors alike. “A great success” for American Wood Solutions (grouping the American Hardwood Export Council and American Softwoods), for which the biannual event in Nantes is definitely at the centre of their European market strategy.
An unmissable event for new and regular exhibitors alike

The role of conviviality reaffirmedThe atmosphere on the show is an important factor of the show’s success, because even though worries about the future are never forgotten, the conviviality that the participants find on the show permit an analysis of the current situation, as well as doing business. “We never thought that organizing meetings on our stand around a meal would be such a success” explains the organizer of one of the collective stands at the show – the pleasure of being able to get together and the simplicity in which meetings take place all help boost the morale of the trade.
The ever-growing success of the Timber Techniques and Solutions Area and its conferencesThe Timber Techniques and Solutions Area (Hall 4) managed again this year to illustrate the dynamic of innovations that timber offers for the building sector and for interior design. The conferences were hugely successful. A particular success was noted for the presentation from the Economic Observatory of France Bois Foret (French national inter-professional association for the promotion of timber), the first study about timber construction in France, exclusively at the Carrefour du Bois.
The next show 4th, 5th & 6th June 2014.

CarrefourInternationaldu Bois 2012$ PReSS
In France, the press relations actions (4 press releases and1 press conference in Paris and a dossier concerning the new Products on the show) generated to date 250 articles or mentions in the written press, 91 mentions on internet, 2 TV reports (France 3 and TV Nantes) as well as 2 mentions on national radio stations.
For the International press relations: Promosalon and the Carrefour International du Bois team jointly dealt with the press relations, partnerships were put together with the major European trade magazines, as well as an action led by French timber with the support of France Bois Forêt. This led to around 40 mentions and articles including those in the major international trade magazines: Timber Trade Journal (England), Holzzentralblatt (Germany), Floor Forum and Echo des Bois (Belgium), Il Legno (Italy) as well as Holland and the northern African countries.
Various examples of extracts:
• An article in the Timber Trade Journal (TTJ – Great Britain) which gives a good review of the show
• An article in an Asian magazine ‘Woodmag’, which appeared in Asia, following the ‘journalists’ week’, organized by French timber.
