This user manual is Graphical Representation of the following instruction found here:http://wiki.openwrt.org/toh/tp-link/tl-mr3020#restoring.original.firmware For restoring your tp-Link MR3020 router back to its original firmware. I used these instruction on two TP-Link MR3020 Piratebox devices.

My testing process:

1. Purchased MR3020 devices V1. & V1.4 (Both Considered Version 1 by TP-Link)

2. Installed openwrt / Piratebox using 2 different methods • On device 1, I installed the Piratebox using the original

instruction which can be found at this link Ver: 1 http://wiki.daviddarts.com/PirateBox_DIY_OpenWrt

• On device 2, I installed the Piratebox using my instructionwhich can be found at this link https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B29hOjS3UlFmcVF0X3M0VXlEMjQ Ver: 1.4

• Both firmware are similar with only subtle differences

3. Prepared my device as outlined by the openwrt wiki.4. Both devices were successfully restored to their original

firmware.5. I ran this process twice (openwrt/Piratebox & back to origina

firmware) with the same successful outcome.

Warning: Use these instruction on the hardware That is specified. These instruction apply to the TP-Link Version 1 and 1.4 You will be able to find the version on the sticker located at the bottom of the box. I have verified that these instruction work with the 2 versions mentioned above. However I do not know if these instructions will work with other versions.

PROCEED WITH CAUTION

STEP 1.

Ssh into your router and edit the network configuration file using “vi”. modify it to match your home network configuration.

In this example I have given the MR3020 an IP address of 192.168.15.111 and a gateway of 192.168.15.1 You should also add an entry for list dns with an IP address to match your router. These values appropriate for my home network. Your home network will be different.
