The History:Habitat for Humanity GSF ReStore

• We opened in September 2012

• We are the first ReStore of Habitat for Humanity Greater San Francisco

• With only three staff members, the ReStore relies on volunteer help

• Receiving: Pick-up, organize and price donations

• Customer Service: Share advise and expertise, run the cash register

• Office: Data entry, post online, research

• Merchandising: Create showcases, make the sales floor clean and attractive

• And more!

What Do Volunteers Do?

When Can I Volunteer?

• Wednesdays through Saturdays

• 9-1 PM or 1-5 PM

• Or spend the day!

Volunteers Must:

Be ready to help

customers

Sign In and Out of

Each Shift

Wear closed-toe shoes

and clothing that can get a

little dirty

• A clean ReStore is a safe ReStore! Please clean up after yourself

• Be aware of surroundings such as corners, hanging objects, and sharp edges to avoid slips, trips and falls

• Be aware of exits, fire extinguishers and first aid kit locations

• Always use gloves, back braces, goggles, and other personal assistance devices

• Use carts, dollies, and another person’s help to move heavy objects

• Remember, bend from your knees and not your back!
