Why does paving fade?WeatheringMost pre-cast paving products are manufactured from sand, cement, aggregate and colour pigment. Unfortunately over time rain, U.V sunlight and the freeze/thaw cycle all combine to fade or “wash out” the pigment on the exposed face of the paving.

TrafficAbrasion from foot or vehicle traffic gradually wears the surface of the paving .

Moss/ Mould GrowthThis is a particular problem on older paving, on paving shaded from sunlight or on paving overhung by trees.

Pressure WashingWe all do it….Spring arrives and out comes the pressure washer to clean down the drive or patio! Pressure washers are great for cleaning but they too play their part in washing out the pigment from your paving (and often the joint sand too!).

The Solution!Restore depth of colour“Restore-A-Drive” puts back the colour that the elements and wear and tear wash out. Formulated from a blend of premium resins and light-fast pigments, “Restore-A-Drive” penetrates deep into the paving surface to leave a “natural” looking finish. You can use it on virtually all pre-cast flags, paver blocks, decorative kerbs and borders. Lasts up to 5 years.

Enhance original tonesBlock paving is often laid with subtly different shade blocks either for a mottled effect or to form a geometric design. Because “Restore-A-Drive” is a translucent liquid it will actually enhance these original tones, even on badly faded surfaces.

Resistant to UV, water, oil & dirt“Restore-A-Drive” is an all-in-one treatment. As well as being a colour renovator it is also a high solids sealer which helps to repel water, light oils and grime. “Restore-A-Drive” is made using light-fast pigments to ensure prolonged life in direct sunlight.

Easy applicationApplying “Restore-A-Drive” is simple. Once the paving has been prepared and allowed to dry, you simply roller on to achieve a beautiful “new look” drive or patio. “Cut in” edges or awkward corners by brush applying.

Vibrant Colour Options“Restore-A-Drive” is available in three shades to treat different original surface colours. Please take care to select the correct colour as “Restore-A-Drive” is a permanent finish.

Buff Brindle (2 shades) Anthracite

IMPORTANT! Owing to printing limitations shades are strictly approximate. “Restore-A-Drive” is a translucent material and therefore the finished colour partly reflects the tones of the surface treated. It is therefore vital that the surface is clean and dark stains removed prior to treatment. We always recommend a small test area is treated to check compatibility .

Four steps to the perfect finish!!1. Biocidal washPrepare the surface by washing with a pressure washer fitted with a rotary patio cleaning tool. Once the paving is dry, spray the surface with a solution of Kingfisher “Biocidal Wash”. This sanitising solution will kill any latent moss, lichen or green mould spores. 5Litres (makes 25 litres) Coverage: 4 sq m/litre

2. Block Fill (weed inhibiting grout)Often when block paving is cleaned it is necessary to “top-up” the joint sand. Unlike traditional sand Kingfisher “Block-Fill” is a moisture curing grout which will not wash out and inhibits weed growth. Easy brush-in application for joints 5mm or less. 15Kg tub

3. Restore-A-DriveApply a single coat of “Restore-A-Drive” evenly by brush or roller. Make sure that the paving is completely dry before applying “Restore-A-Drive” and that rain is not expected within 4 hours of application. Important! “Restore-A-Drive” is a translucent material and therefore the treated surface cures to a darker shade than the liquid. 5 litres or 25 litres, Coverage: 4 sq m/litre

4. Ultimate Topcoat (optional)“Ultimate Topcoat” is our “high-solids” clear resin sealer which can be applied to most paving materials. Used on a surface treated with “Restore-A-Drive” it will provide added protection, improving the longevity of the finish. 5 litres /25 litres, Coverage: 4 sq m/litre
