About – Resquip Ltd

OVERVIEW

Resquip Limited, exists to provide high quality, versatile and affordable rescue training equipment to the: Emergency Services, Veterinary, Training Organisations and those involved in providing Rescue and

Disaster Management training programmes. About us......

Resquip is a UK based company. In 2008 our parent organisation Big Beast Ltd decided to design, develop and build a life sized, fully articulated, mannequin horse for use as a training dummy by the Fire and Rescue Services across the UK and USA. The first production version was supplied to UK’s Hampshire Fire and Rescue for field testing. Several versions later we are proud of the difference the mannequin horse is making to fire services all over the world. Numerous veterinary schools are using them for teaching as well. Global sales of the rescue mannequin have seen the mannequin travel as far as Europe, USA and Australia. This is the pre-eminent mannequin for training at all levels (Awareness through training). Resquip is branching out and researching other products to offer to the services. From mannequins to mechanical design; the design team is open to suggestions and demands of the industry.

Horse Mannequin - Spec The horse has lifting & pulling eyes that enable easy placement into challenging scenarios. The body of the horse is virtually watertight and can be used in water/bog rescue.

Realistic Design: Detailed sculpting and flexible rubber used to replicate tone. Included are 2 sets of ears. (Natural and Distressed)

Neck: Spring steel strip facilitates a degree of sideways neck movement

Trolleys Available: Castor trolley For high manoeuvrability (Pictured)

Pneumatic wheel trolley: For travelling over distance and bumpy terrain. (Upgrade)

Skeleton: CNC Laser Cut components make up the internal framework, ensuring repeatable quality and precision

Exposed metal is galvanised

Legs are lockable; making the horse totally self supporting

Horse - Colours & Patterns

In 2013 Resquip Ltd brought out their MK5 Version of the horse, which has structural upgrades and new colour options.

Colours Resquip is able to obtain many coloured pigments, from Black to White, right

through the rainbow spectrum. Most common colours are:

Horse – Assembly

What comes with the mannequin horse? Horse (As in Picture, with Locking Pins and Bolts) and Trolley (Castor as Standard)

Tool Kit (All tools are catered for, no extra tools are needed to assemble the horse) Box Spanners (Small: Leg and Neck Bolts. Large: Torso to Legs Bolts)

Leg Locking Pins The hooves and shins can be locked in place by smaller locking pins.

A lot of time and thought goes into the Resquip Training Horse. Bolts all have domed nuts to reduce snagging, T-Bars have removable handles, joints with fine tolerances, eyes for easy manoeuvring and lifelike textures and shapes.

Horse – Trolleys

CASTOR TROLLEY The castor trolley is best suited to smooth surfaces (Tarmac and Smooth Concrete) and short journeys where high manoeuvrability is needed. The

trolley features: Powder coated frame, 4x360° Castor Wheels with lockable brakes and ratchet tie downs to hold the horse in position.

Size: 780mm (31”) Wide x 1630mm (64”) Long

PNEUMATIC WHEEL TROLLEY The PW trolley is best suited to long distance journeys, with the ability to go

over bumpy terrain such as shallow gravel and firm grass. The trolley features: Powder coated frame, 4x 260mm (10”) Pneumatic Wheels, Rear Parking Brake,

Steering Handle and ratchet tie downs to hold the horse in position.

Horse – Trolley Upgrades The MK5 Trolleys only work with MK5 Horses.

This is due to the precision standing of the MK5 Horses.

To keep the horse stable on the trolley, the ratchet straps keep the hooves held down over the location pins, this requiring all legs to sit flush on the floor.

The horse torso still uses the same location system, so if you do have an older

horse and want to upgrade to the new legs and trolleys, we now offer an upgrade package.

Horse - Delivery

For £POA Resquip will deliver the mannequin horse anywhere within the UK. This will be hand

delivered by one of the Resquip team.

The horse will be assembled by one of the Resquip team and training will be given on assembly and

maintenance procedures.

Lifting equipment (Tractor/Fork Lift/Hoist/Other) is needed to suspend the torso via the 2 lifting eyes

for offloading and assembly. If no lifting equipment is available, please notify Resquip in advance.

Resquip have been shipping globally for 4 Years and provide secure crate packing and easy to assemble

instructions for the mannequin.

Tools required: PZ2 Screwdriver/Drill Bit attachment to unscrew the lid. Lifting equipment to lift out the torso and assemble the

horse

Glide Mat System - Features

Kick up on the towing edge To help glide over ridges &

rough terrain

Spreader Bar System Gives a positive linear pull and protects the front edge of the

mat, increasing mat life

Multiple Pull Directions The mat cut outs are designed in such

way, that the mat can be pulled from any direction by moving the spreader bar Modular System

Ease of storage and ability to join mats together. Especially useful

vehicles with limited storage space

Mat Material The mats are made from HDPE

offering high strength and resistance to wear. Often used on security doors!

Glide mat edges are rounded Offering comfort when lifting and

less resistance when dragged

Heavy and Light Duty Versions Both versions are capable of

dragging over 1 tonne of weight. The heavy duty version offers

more rigidity and has longer life.

- Quick Release Hooks - Resquip are looking into user friendly hooks, with automatic locking and larger hook openings to take standard slings and harnesses. There are 3

operations being looked at: Spreader Bar, Single Release and Horizontal Pull Current Progress: 40% - In Design Stages

- Cow Mannequin - Similar to the horse, the cow will be fully articulated, with features such as the

udder. Current Progress: 50% - Sculpting complete, Working on

articulation and skeleton

- Bariatric Training Mannequin - With obesity rising Resquip are looking into a fully articulated obese human mannequin with lifelike flesh movements and features. The mannequin is

designed to help the services move people of this nature safely and with as much dignity as possible.

Services

Repairs Accidents do happen and in some cases mannequins can be repaired by cleaning up the

damaged area and bonding new material to damaged areas/holes.

Maintenance Some components have maintenance procedures. Resquip can provide maintenance for

products or if components are looking a little tired can be re-coated.

Spare Parts If components have been lost or damaged beyond repair. Everything is hand made in the

Resquip workshops so replacement parts can be sent out.

Product Development Resquip work closely with our clients and any feedback we are given, we try and take on

board, offering better products for the clients needs.

Design and Engineering Resquip has an in house design department, whether it is CAD modelling or physical

design. We can facilitate for both.

One off products and prototyping If there are any one off components that need to be made or an idea a client would like to

try, we can provide mock ups and prototypes to help develop that idea.
