MAKING POLVORONES

• Key competencies in all subjects play an important role on this task.

• Students will be more secure in communication and in mathematics where they work hard on this subject. Money management skills, counting money, calculate weight and measurement and reasoning skills are indispensible to get a profiit.

• They will be more familiar with the ICT tools making a good use of them.

• Creativity, responsibility and solidarity are taken into consideration along the procedure.

• Healthy habits are also developed. • They will learn to learn by doing.

• Teachers work together in order to get a final product.

Objectives

-Students will learn the importance of being responsible in a collaborative work.

-Students will learn to make a budget and profit.-Students will learn to be supportive donating the money earned as profit.

InfantsTask:Decorating the stand using different techniques: stamping hands, making kitchen utensils crafts used to make the polvorones.

PRIMARY 3rd

Task:Designing paper aprons by measuring fabrics and papers Putting Maths into practised in an innovative way. The students creativity plays an important role in this activity.

Task:Mixing and kneading all the polvorones ingredients.

Stimulating and motivating activity where special healthy habits (hand washing, gloves...) were practised.

The students designed and prepared the wrapping paper and made decisions aboutpackeging.

QR codes were created to advertise where the final product was produced.

Ingredients(45 polvorones)•400 grs of flour•225 grs of lard•125grs of icing sugar•2 table spoons of anis.•½ tea spoon of cinnamon.•A tea spoon of greater lemon.

Procedure

•Preheat oven to 150 degrees and place the flour on the baking tray. Extend it with a spatula.

•Put it in the oven and bake for six minutes. Remove from oven, stair it with a spatula and bake for six more minutes.

• Sift the flour and place it in a bowl. Add cinnamon, sugar, greater lemon and lard. Mix all the ingredients well making a dough.

•Sprinkle the countertop with a little flour, place the dough on top, sprinkle with another little flour and stretch it with a rolling pin (1.5 cm thick). With a short round cutter, cut the polvorones and place them on a tray lined with baking paper. • Use the edges left and repeat the process.•Bake at 170 C for 15 minutes.Let cool, sprinkle with sugar and wrap them up.
