Workforce Investment Act of 1998

• Establishes a national workforce preparation and employment system (America's Workforce Network) to meet the needs of businesses, job seekers and those who want to further their careers.

• The “One-Stop” Center was created to facilitate streamlining of services applicable to the job seeker.

• Includes customers (job seekers) who have disabilities.• Administered by the Governor, State Workforce

Investment Boards, Local (or regional) Workforce Investment Boards.

The Role of the Employment Transition Center (ETC)

• Opened in March 2009.• Specializes in serving “Dislocated Workers”.

3 Levels of Service

• Level I: Self or “Core” Service• Level II: Intensive or “One-On-One” Service• Level III: Training Support

• Anything that job seekers can do on their own.• These services are free and universally

accessible to the general public. • However, each customer is requested to

Intensive “One-On-One” Services

The career case managers provide individual career guidance to help create re-employment plans to meet YOUR specific needs. One size does not fit all, so an individualized approach is used to assist each person in tailoring their employment plan.
