Needs AssessmentProblem/opportunity?Most students majoring in MNGT 900 have not actively participated in the resort/spa arena.
What is currently available?Basic textbook instruction and recorded media is available for classroom viewing. Hands on learning is typically reserved for internships with local resorts/spas and limited to general customer service.
What should be available? On the job training is needed for this industry. Students must be shown that real work takes place behind the scenes. This is a multi-billion dollar industry whose existence is based solely upon the personal desires of those seeking lavish & personal attention.

Needs Assessment
Gap analysis between what is available and what should be available.•Personal income levels •Students only understand the glamour; not the business aspects•Many resorts/spas do not survive 3 years
What is your recommended solution for filling the gap?•The opportunity to experience resort/spa life•The opportunity to understand the behind the scenes needs•The opportunity to develop an understanding of operational guidelines
