    90 Teak Rd

    Dumont NJ 07628June 3, 2009

    Borough of Dumont

    50 Washington Avenue

    Dumont NJ 07628

    Mayor McHale and Borough Council:

My question is regarding Resolution #09-152. I would like to know whether theindividual appointed is the same individual appointed as Certified Tree Laborer under

    Resolution #09-07 on January 6, 2009.

As recorded on the minutes of the January 20 public meeting, I had requested whether theindividual appointed was credentialed either by the state (New Jersey Board of Tree

Experts) or the industry (International Society of Arboriculture) given the title. Mr.

Perkins indicated that he would get back to me. As of today; however, I have received noresponse from Mr. Perkins.

I recall that Mr. Perkins, Councilman Caspare and others praised the individual on hisperformance, which is reassuring; however, I am concerned whether appointing an

individual for a credentialed title when those credentials may not have been completed bythe individual sets a risky precedent for future personnel appointments.

I would appreciate it if this letter could be entered into the minutes during the publicparticipation-consent agenda only and the response entered into the minutes as well.

Thank you for your attention into this matter.

    Sincerely,

    Kai Chen
