Bedford Road Residence

LOCATION: Toronto, OntarioCOMPLETION: 2008

This semi-detached Heritage property is located in the East Annex Heritage Conservation District near Avenue Rd and Davenport Rd. The project consisted of a full interior alteration from a 3 unit residence to a single-family residence with basement apartment. Exterior design included the front entry hardscape, rear yard landscape planning and rear elevation cladding and new openings. Extensive coordination was required with Heritage Preservation planners.

Bernard Avenue Residence

This semi-detached Heritage property is located in the East Annex Heritage Conservation District near Avenue Rd and Yorkville Ave. The project consisted of a full interior renovation including the basement, first, second and third floors. Extensive coordination was required with Heritage Preservation planners.

Chao Crescent Residence

ResidentialPROJECTS

LOCATION: Richmond Hill, OntarioCOMPLETION: 2012

This former farmhouse is located on King Road, adjacent to King Township. Constructed circa 1850, the house was destroyed by a fire. MW Hall Corporation, in association with Caricari Lee Architects as joint venture architects, prepared record drawings of the heritage house, and reconstruction plans. The fire damaged house was dismantled and the original bricks, a portion of the roof trusses, and some of the original carriage house interior boards were integrated into a precise reconstruction of the residence some 300m north of its original site. The house is now a designated heritage building in the Town of Richmond Hill.

Our goal is first and foremost to respond to and deliver on our client’s program requirements while ensuring a balance between performance and cost-effective sustainable design.

Creditview Road Residence

LOCATION: Kleinburg, OntarioCOMPLETION: 2010

Located in historic Kleinburg, this new single-storey detached dwelling was constructed after demolishing the previous dwelling and reusing the existing foundation walls.

DeSavery Residences


Perched on the crest of two intersecting streets, the DeSavery Crescent Residences respond to the scale, material and colour of the houses around them with a modern interpretation. Large groupings of windows reinforces connection to the street and presents a bold statement. The houses are organized around a central open stairwell creating warm light filled spaces through out the house.

Dovercourt Road Residence

Located in the Trinity Bellwoods neighbourhood, the design for this 3 storey home was in response to the needs for family living. The original neglected Edwardian semi-detached house underwent complete transformation. The original brick exterior has been reinterpreted with prefinished fibre cement panels and enlarged window openings for a clean contemporary look. The main floor living spaces were opened up with floor to ceiling east facing window overlooking the outdoor patio and BBQ area off the kitchen. The upper floors include 4 bedrooms with roof deck off the master bedroom with overlooking views of the neighbourhood and skyline.

Eden Vale Drive Residence

LOCATION: King City, OntarioCOMPLETION: 2009

CLA provided Architectural Services from Design Development to Construction documents for the interior detailing of this home of business owner Sandro Soscia of Soscia Engineering. Surrounded by numerous golf courses, this palatial King City home was completed in 2009 and one of Joe Caricari and David Lee’s first projects.

McRae Drive Residence

ResidentialPROJECTS


Located in a well established Toronto Leaside neighbourhood, the design celebrates the connection of the house to the new garden and reconfigured pool at the back. The project consists of a whole house renovation and addition to accommodate the needs of a growing family with 3 children. The design honours the traditional character at the street while the interior and rear of house expresses modern aesthetic with livability and natural light as key considerations.

Sheldrake Boulevard Residence

This Sherwood Park residence is a half storey house with finished basement and detached carport. The scope of work included a ground floor renovation, new second floor and third storey loft. Extensive demolition was necessary to remove the second storey, ground floor to floor joists and masonry walls and the removal of the exterior deck.

Joseph Caricari PARTNER, ARCHITECT

As a founding partner of Caricari Lee Architects, Joseph facilitates collaborative design with clients and consultants creating buildings that are efficient relative to site, program and systems in a thoughtful composition of light, form and materials. Joseph also focuses on all aspects of developments assisting clients to ensure successfully executed projects.

MEET THE TEAM

David Lee PARTNER, ARCHITECT

David’s professional experience has spanned nearly 25 years. He is a graduate of the University of Toronto architectural programme where he was the recipient of an award and 3 scholarships for academic excellence. He apprenticed and developed his skills as an architect at various respected architectural firms, including Montgomery Sisam Architects, Fentress Bradburn Architects Canada, AJ Tregebov Architect and Taylor Smyth Architects. His professional work is diverse with a broad range of experience in retail, office, industrial, residential and heritage projects.

David is a founding partner of Caricari Lee Architects and is LEED certified. He has a flair for design and is responsible for the adminis-tration of various projects in the office.

Robert Santo SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

Robert has been interested in architecture since high school, where he won a com-petition to design a cottage for one of his teachers. Assisting his father with the con-struction of their family homes and working for a construction company for two years, has provided Robert with practical and theoretical knowledge of building construction. With over 30 years of experience, he has been involved in a wide variety of projects in the public and private sectors as an Architectural Technologist, Job Captain and Project Manager.

Robert has worked on a variety of industrial, commercial, institutional, hospitality, pharma-ceutical, recreational and residential projects.
