THE REQUIREMENTS 5-page paper: 5 pages, with a thesis, a

solid conclusion, make sure you have a point you are trying to make

10-minute presentation: 10 minutes, visual aids (PowerPoint preferred), make sure you have a point you are trying to make

THE REQUIREMENTS 15-minute mini-lesson: 15 minutes, must

have a point to teach, must have work for the class to do, must have a strong anticipatory set and closure

3-page paper and display: 3 pages, plus a display piece with additional information and visual aids, must contain enough information to equal another two-page paper, must have a point you are trying to make

REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL CHOICES

You work alone You must MAKE A POINT Must use research from 10 sources Must provide a list of sources that you used No more than 5 sources can be Internet

sites You MUST BE READY for the BOX OF DOOM

PICKING YOUR TOPIC Pick something you like Don’t get too specific that you cannot

find enough resources or have a hard time proving a point about it

Don’t get too general that you will have a hard time narrowing down to a point

DON’T FALL IN LOVE WITH YOUR TOPIC!!!

FINDING USEFUL SITES Not everything out there is worthwhile Yahoo!, Google, Dogpile, etc. are not

always your best bet Websites are given preference by the

number of links that go to that particular site - not based on content
