TECHNICAL ELEMENTS

Page 5: Research Presentation

The target audience for the fi lm trai ler we are producing are predominantly both males and females in the age range of 17 -25 year olds. To ensure we produce the most appealing fi lm trai ler to this audience, i t may be best to use young actors to enable the audience to relate and engage with the characters, so this may be a good way to gain success.

We could also include events that have a twist and that the audience wil l f ind interesting e.g fights, possibly a murder, becoming arrested which wil l por tray the violence and crime that is expected within the genre. Also stereotypical behaviour from the actors such as par tying, acting wreck less and wild and drinking as these are shown in fi lm trai lers such as Spring Breakers and Project X which are very popular as they connote the fun and excit ing element within the fi lm.

Since the content usually involved within crime thri l lers can be very violent and the scenarios are very serious involving murders/fights etc. The age ratings on these fi lms are usually 15 and since our audience is 17+ we are aiming our trai ler at a mature audience which wil l be able to understand the scenes and storyl ine.
