All of these genres of magazines are examples of what I have used in my mood board. Indie Magazine, Dance Music Magazine, Classical Magazine, RnB Magazine, Pop Magazine, Rap Magazine, Rock Magazine. All of them are different to each other in all kinds of way, for example Rap Magazines are completely different to classical music as they have different conventions, rap have to conform to things like gangsters, dark colours and clothing jewellery whereas a magazine like a classical music magazine have to have something like a classical instrument like a violin or someone recognisable to who is interested in that genre.

The typography is also different on each one of the magazines and it genres, the rap and hip-hop and some times the RnB genre can have dark colours with bright font or vice versa, this is important as it can show the tone of the magazine and conform to certain genres and characteristics, The masthead is the main part of the front cover along with the main story/image, this is also important as it is easily recognisable to the reader and audience which will make the reader want to buy it as they will feel safe as they know what it is and will be interested to know what the next magazine is about as music magazines do not follow a certain story throughout.

This mood board will help me think about and create my own magazine as I could pretty much use them as a template and it’ll also help me decide things like my target market and my main image and story. As well as helping me with this, it will also help me things like font, convergence and buzz words to help sell my magazine and increase interest.
