A reminder about assignments…A reminder about assignments… Most of us have become complacent about our

assignments. Students are treating them like they are just a way to earn points instead of activities to learn about the topics we are studying. Assignments need to be completed before the test or they

lose their value. Our class policies stated that late work would lose value.

From now on this policy will be followed to encourage students to complete their work on time. All assignments will lose points if they are not turned in by the day we take a chapter test.

From this point on, if a student wants to take a test again they need to show that they have completed the learning activities from the unit before that will happen.

Many students are turning in papers that are so crumpled, torn, and use such poor handwriting that they are nearly unreadable. The Quality Work Rubic will be used to assess

whether a paper is ready to be turned in. Papers that have been damaged due to being

shoved into backpacks, folded and stuffed into pockets, or that obviously have been so rushed that they are difficult to read will be put in the Not Ready Box until students redo them.

After you select your topic, you need to do several things before you are ready to go into the library.

First you need a basic background source for your topic. Your text book is a place to start.

Complete the first two sections of your worksheet. Write eight questions for your research topic. Write at least six key words for your topic. Come to class tomorrow ready to go to the library.

Know where your worksheets are, bring them to class with a pencil, leave your backpack in your locker.
