WMG Warner Music Group (WMG) is the third largest business

group and family of record labels in the recording industry, making it one of the big four record companies.

Mainly focus on signing and developing musical acts and, in turn, distributing product for subsidiaries and other record

labels. WMG has a vast range of artists all with differing genres, however there is a strong focus on the likes of rock and indie

music, with bands such as ‘Death Cab for Cutie’, ‘The Ramones’ and ‘Hard Fi’

I feel like this label would be suitable in terms of the distribution to my music video, due to its vast experience and its

recognisability. Furthermore, I feel due to its abundance of indie/rock music in its roster, they would be well aware of the

correct route to take in terms of music video distribution for this genre.

WMG WMG has many marketing techniques to promote new artists, a new CD or

single launches. Some of these techniques are – website,, press coverage, advertising & viral online campaigns etc. A main way of promoting their artists is on MySpace. On here they can have their own profile, add fans, promote events, people can listen to their music, and many more. I think this is a good way of promoting their artists as millions use the internet worldwide, so they will be easy to find and their talent can be spread by

word of mouth from friend to friend. WMG also use online forums, message boards & also gig reviews to promote their bands. This could be

on the bands official website, fan sites or other web pages. WMG also have a YouTube channel. The main thing featured on their channel is videos of their artists’ songs or new songs. They also promote their artists YouTube channel. As well as this, a new website has been created - Hulu.com – it is an increasingly popular US-based online video entertainment site, and has

now signed Warner Music Group. WMG said they will provide music videos, live concerts, artist interviews and other material to Hulu.com for

people to see. WMG & the band managers also organise major gigs & festivals for their artists to play at and to promote them.

EMIThe EMI Group, also known as EMI Music or

simply EMI, is a British multinational music company headquartered in London, United Kingdom. It is the fourth-largest business group and family of record labels in the recording industry and was one of the "big four" record companies

On 12 November 2011, it was announced that EMI has sold its recorded music operations to Universal Music Group for £1.2 billion and its music publishing operations to a Sony-led consortium for $2.2 billion

EMII feel that EMI would again be a very suitable record

label to which my music video would be successful inEMI hold contracts with huge recording artists such

as Coldplay and Radiohead. Due to this vast commercial success, I feel like this

company would be ideal for my music video. Furthermore, the vast experience in my specific genre would be hugely important in terms of the distribution of my magazine.

In addition, to the commercial ability of this company, the software and props available to me would far exceed that of many other companies available

Roc-A-Fella RecordsThe foundation of the label occurred in 1996,

beginning as an independent outlet for rapper Jay-Z's first album. After being turned down by several major labels, Shawn 'Jay-Z' Carter, Brett Dejohn, and Kareem 'Biggs' Burke started their own label through Priority Records, using money from the music videos provided by Payday Records due to their singles only deal.

Though Reasonable Doubt didn't immediately attain commercial success, it spawned several hits, a close relationship with The Notorious B.I.G. and procured him a reputation in the hip-hop community
