Universal studios- American gangsterAmerican gangster was produced and released by world known company, Universal Studios during 2007. Universal studios are quite popular for their films, especially gangster films and its normally gangster films based on the Mafia set in America. These types are rather popular. There are many other similar companies like Universal such as 20th Century fox, Paramount pictures, Columbia pictures and Warner Bros. Pictures. All these companies make and market films within the gangster genre and they are big as they are probably because of some of their gangster films. Universal studios have many studio locations like Hollywood and Japan and other places around the world. Universal was founded by Carl Laemmle and many other in 1912 but it’s actually owned by the biggest mass media company in the world ‘Comcast’ It is the oldest movie company in the USA. They profit vast amounts of money and release many movies throughout the year. Almost all the time they are successful so they needn’t worry about budgets and funds.

The Departed- Warner Bros. Pictures

The Departed was produced and marketed by the famous company Warner Bros. pictures. The Departed was produced in 2006. Like Universal, Warner Bros make a fair few of gangster films, especially American mob films. Warner Bros is up in the high ranks among other popular companies and have been for since 1923 when it was founded by the four Warner brothers: Sam Warner, Albert Warner, Harry warner and Jack Warner. They are based in Burbank, Los Angeles. Over the years, Warner bros have became very popular, creating TV shows like Surfside Six and 77 sunset strip. Warner Bros are a profit organisation and profit hugely on their films, all year round. This production company does have competition with other companies like Universal Studios and Paramount as they make similar films.

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels- Handmade Films

Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, the famous British gangster film, made in 1998 by film company Handmade films. This production company is a British company and was founded in 1978 by George Harrison and Denis O’Brien. Handmade films are not known for making gangster films rather comedy but they explored and succeeded. They are based in London, they are not a very big name and do not work for profit so they have a small budget and funds. Summit Entertainment, Steve Tisch Company and The SKA films actually presented Lock Stock and two Smoking barrels whereas Homemade films made it.

Snatch- Columbia Pictures

Another famous British gangster movie is Snatch, made and marketed by Columbia pictures in the year 2000. Columbia pictures is another big American film company, known for countless films. It was founded by two brothers, Harry and Jack Cohn and Joe Brandt in 1918. Columbia pictures is also up in the high ranks of the best movie makers and has a lot of competition. They also make huge amounts of profit and their budget is very high. It is actually owned by Sony Pictures Entertainment.

Gangster film 44 Inch chest was made and marketed by American film company IM global in 2009. IM Global is a private company and was founded by Stuart Ford in 2007 so it’s a pretty new company when compared to such companies as Warner Bros. IM Global are more known for their Horror, action and sci-fi type of films, one film they made which went big was Insidious. As they an American company, they are based in Los Angeles, California. But they do have offices in different locations like London and Mumbai. IM Global are not a very big company and rarely make movies which they can makes lots of profit on. 44 Inch Chest budgets 152k and grossed 152k so their funds would be quite low compared to other companies.
