Page 3: Research into digipaks

On the front cove of the digipak the artist is shaded by her ha, only to reveal sunlight shinning on her red lips. In bold red lettering says ‘RED’ and underneath in white bold writing is ‘TAYLOR SWIFT’. You can tell by the text as well as the close-up of her sad face that this song will be about failed relationships.

On every page of the digipak there are picture of Taylor swift in different locations; she wears quite only fashioned clothing. There are a few close ups of her face and in these she has bright red lipstick or the photos as been tinted to a red colour. which connects with the title of the album.

In the prologue she talks directly to the fans, explaining what she means by the turn ‘red’ in love and why she has name her album after it. She also quotes her favourite poem which inspired her to think a certain way, on this page she also has her signature which makes the digipak even more personal.

On the other pages as well as pictures of her there are also the lyrics of her songs as well as the names of everyone who was involved in creating the song. The lyrics are written with random capital letter which makes it feel as if she typed it on there herself, also on the song title certain word that are the meaning of the song has been underline; for example, Holy and Sad.

The front cover of the digipak is black and white apart from the pink writing which stands out her name ‘Pixie Lott’. From the photos she is giving direct address which makes her look mysterious and shows that her songs will be a bit dark.

In the inside you have the glossary of all of the songs that are in the album and then on the right side a picture of the artist in bright sunlight.

On every left page there is the song title as well as all of the people who have helped create the song, on the right side there is a picture longshots and mid-shots of the artist posing.

On third to last page there is a page which is dedicating to promoting her website as well as say the names of the people in photography, the company and management who created her album and digipak.

On the last to pages she has her own typed thank you’s to all the people who have helped her, it is written informally as well as her signature at the end. On the last page there are twenty-five personaly pictures of her and her friends, that are significant in her career.

You can tell by the black and white serious/dramatic photo of the artist that this song will be about true love and how the love didn’t last. The black and white creates a dark, sad feeling which makes you believe that the songs wont be very happy.

In the rest of the digipak there are more black and white photos of the singer progression on making the album; there are one of her recording, behind the piano, on her laptop and about the house that she must of lived in for that period of time.

On the last to pages are the songs and who had created them . The background colour is grey and yet again creates a dark/sad feeling.

There is nothing about the digipak that seems personal to the artist, not the text nor pictures.

This was the promotion for the digipak that was placed in magazines. In the left corner there is a picture of what the cover of the album looks like and the main picture of the artist is yet again a gloomy picture in back and white. Still sending the same feeling as the digipak did.

The front cover picture of the artist looks quite seductive, she has bright red lips, wet hair and a direct gave. This leave the impression that the album will be about love and seduction.

On every page there is the title of the songs as well as the lyrics, the writing is very small and is written in grey which is the same colour of her cover. Next to the lyrics is another seductive and dramatic picture of the artist.

On the two last pages there is a page that is full of the names of the songs as well as all of the people that had helped create them. On the other page is a piece of paper in which the artist has written all of her thank you’s which makes it more personal and make the audience feel touched and more connected to them.
