RESEARCH FOR LOGO/ ANIMATION OF THIALLO
DREAMWORKS

• Difficult to animate- as computer modelling software would need to be used • Long length of
around 20 seconds before it finishes and fades out• Common typeface
Sun shines on the side of the earth as the text “Universal” orbits the Earth before stopping in the middle of the screen and a light flashes from behind the Earth.
NEW LINE CINEMA
A black box flips into the centre with pieces of film tape coming over the top while a flash builds and New Line Cinema appears underneath
• Static text and ‘frame’ of tape around the black box• Rotating elements
keep interest in the studio animation• Simple design• Simple colour scheme
that relies on 3 colours- light blue, white and black
METRO GOLDWYN MAYER

• The lion is juxtaposed into the shot
• Simple colour scheme• Complicated design• Old fashioned- isn’t
enhanced by modern technology, and is often low resolution
The logo fades in, the lion roars and it fades out.
WHAT WE HAVE FOUND OUT/ WANT FROM OUR LOGO
• A simple design• Something using a fade or flash of light behind
the main logo to draw attention• Use a unique or recognisable font so the image of
the company is unique• Use bright colours to contrast with the black
background we will probably be using• Use fades to introduce the film after the logo• Have a small, simple logo that is easily
recognisable to compete with how unique the logos of Universal and Metro Goldwyn Mayer are
