Spotlight

• Spotlights’ are mostly used in concerts or some sporting events. They are for individuals that wants the audience attention because they are possibly going to sing or give out a speech or something like that.

Floodlight

• A floodlight is an artificial light providing even illumination across a wide area. Floodlight are mostly on for sport game when they start like Rugby, Football, Cricket or other.

Fresnel

• A focusable spotlight used in film, television, and theatre lighting, which can be adjusted via a knob on the back of the light from "spot" for a narrowly focused beam, to "flood" for a wider beam.

Profile• In a simple profile spot, the lens can be made to physically move back and

forth with can provide a degree of focus. Beam angle can only be varied by changing the lens barrel or in the case of older units such as the Strand Pattern 23, the original profile state-of-the-art workhorse, the beam can be widened by adding a second lens. The front lens needs to be turned round so that the two lenses are ball-to-ball.

Follow Spot• A follow spot, sometimes known as a spot light, is a powerful stage lighting instrument which

projects a bright beam of light onto a performance space. Follow spots are controlled by a spotlight operator who follows actors around the stage. Follow spots are most commonly used in concerts, musicals and large scale presentations where highlighting a specific, mobile, individual is critical. Follow spots are sometimes located overhead on catwalks. In some theatres, they may also be located in the control booth or purposely built "spot booths" in addition to the catwalk. Follow spots may be arranged in a variety of patterns for coverage. For example they are aimed at the stage in front of them in theatres, located to the back or rear.

Par Can

• A type of lantern which projects a near parallel beam of light, which is mostly use when rock bands are performing.

Stage Spot

• Stage Spot is when it is fixed on to the stage. Or on the siling it is mostly for Theatre, Dance Opera or other.

Gel • Their purpose is to filter the light according to the specific properties of

the gel being used. Normally they would be clipped right in front of the light, but that is not always the case. It is not unusual to cover the windows of an interior location set with color correction gel, to adjust the sunlight passing thru it so it matches the lights being used inside.

Gobo

• A Gobo Is not a light it is in front of the light. It is also to create a more neutral lighting.
