opening is what reveals an insight of the actual film. It generally introduces the protagonists of the film as well as the setting. Film openings tend to give away the genre of the film through its presentation. It gives the film an opportunity to make a first impression on its audience.

● Then, I described some conventions of a film opening and the reason for them being used in a film opening. This consisted of the introduction of the main characters, the opening credits, the font and style of the text, the soundtrack or score and finally, the text orientation.

● After that, I presented some information that gave an insight of the website ‘Art of The Title’; http://www.artofthetitle.com/; research was conducted from this specific website in order to explain the effect of film titles - Art of the Title provides a resource of title sequence designs, spanning the film, television, conference, and video game industries. It features title designs from countries around the world.

● I gave a brief definition for the ‘romance’ genre - All romance films have a central love story and an emotionally optimistic ending. However, romance novels may have any tone or style, be set in any place or time, and have varying levels of sensuality; ranging from sweet to extremely hot.

Finally, I gave a brief definition of the ‘action’ genre - Action films always include conflict and desire. In a good action film, the characters on both the good and evil side are strong. These characters also contain some conflicting values. Therefore the hero will save the day, but has to wrestle with his own character flaws first in order to do so.
