Films that influenced me:

These films influenced the type of opening scene I wanted to film because seeing how popular these movies were in this genre, I decided that (and also because its one of my favorite genres) I would enjoy filming this type of film and I love the feel of being on your seat and being terrified so I thought being able to actually make an opening for that genre would be perfect for me to do.

Primary Research- The Questionnaires

Conclusion of the Questionnaires• After going through the questionnaires I gave to people, I came to the conclusion that

the age group of 13-24 is the group that had the most thriller/ horror movie watchers. Some of the favorite thrillers/horrors people said they enjoyed included: The shining, The Exorcist, Psycho, The Cabin In Woods, and Saw.

Secondary research- The openings The next three slides will include the three movie openings I watched and the notes I took for ideas. The three movies include:• Psycho• Seven • The shining

- titles come from side with green background - no pictures or video, just titles

- Creepy/erie music - Titles are white - The music is dramatic, the

instruments within the music are being played at a very fast pace. It is high pitch strings one moment and then the next is low pitch.

-Creepy music - Creepy pictures- Titles blink in and out - Creepy background sounds- titles look like writing

-creepy music - landscape views- title cards enter from bottom to top- no clear plot in opening - Just landscape views, no videos

or dialogue or anything - Music you know is for that

Conclusion for the notes on the openings After watching the three movie openings, I realized that most of them did not really have any videos or talking, it was mostly title cards and/or pictures/ Landscape views. With the three movie openings in mind I have a pretty clear idea of what I would like to do for my opening scene. Not only do I have an idea about my film, but I have in mind where I would like to film, the props/ costumes I would need, and how to edit it in a sence.

Ending Remarks • So after all this research and planning portion of my final task, I know pretty much

exactly what to do and how to do it for my opening scene.
