Profile analysis.

Angela Duah-Danquah was born Ghana and migrated to London in the 1990s to live with her older brother and start a new life. The reason for moving to London is to find work and to help finance her mother who is still living in Ghana. In the past years she has been having certain issue while living in London and had to deal with them by herself now that her older brother died. 20 years after this and she is still living in London and now that her two children has nearly fully grown, she may move back to Ghana in-order to take care of her mother.

Research 1.

• When researching about immigration I found out that they are similar to my mother they all have problems when arriving to a "foreign" country. Here is two example I have found.

Research 2.

• This shows that immigrantion was and is still a problem in the UK, for some people. .http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/immigration/10570839/Immigration-has-a-positive-impact-says-Office-for-Budget-Responsibility-head.html

• Comparing now immigration in the UK to when my mother come which is in 1990s http://www.theguardian.com/uk/2001/jan/25/race.world

• "England and Wales in 1994-95. By 1998-99 net inward migration increased to 194,000, while natural population growth fell to 72,000. "This amounts to a huge shift in the importance of immigration to changes in the British population, with consequences for ethnic mix and age structure," he said."

Research 3: influence

• I would like to use fast forward effect while my mother is sitting down thinking with a voice-over to help connection to what she is thinking and feeling. Here is an example of the effect.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIK4Uf9NhJA

• This video is also a great example because it shows other person who are similar and that I may add to my short film, having my mum's friend who is from Ghana and had the same issue as my mum and have them both talking and interview together to get a more insight and character.

• I may use subtitle on my short film since, it still hard for my mum to speak English.

Research 4.

• I have recently watch Benefit street and shows how local people and immigrant are living as. Immigrant in that area having issues with jobs and the Romanians even explains how they had everything in Romania and nothing in the UK. http://www.channel4.com/programmes/benefits-street/4od

• For this I thought it is important for my mother to explain why she move to England and what England has that Ghana don't and why

Conclusion& possible questions I may ask.

• I feel that immigration is an important topic that need to be informed to my audiences. These research help me establish more of what I may need to add for my documentary, more ideas to help with my work.

• 1. What is the main issue you have to face while in London.

• 2. What is the different from what you have/not have in Ghana compare to in London

• 3. If you didn’t come to London what would you have done?

• 4. Do you regret coming to London.?

• More question will be ask but those are the main questions.
